I want it to be better

BaltimoreDave

Wanted to love it after reading of their inspirations (Robotron, Galaga, Berserk, Tempest, Tron) all great to be sure. as a 43 yr old who grew with all those games and more, I bought your game on that face value. No regrets, I support your goal. Here is my critique. Please take it as it is intended, as constructive criticism. Your bored me in first 30 seconds. I saw what you wrote about your inspirations, and its not there. Please look at as well at Rip-Off, Sinistar, Gravitar and Black widow for the best examples of game play tension and stress from that period, Your game felt like a weak asteroids remake.

Awesome!

I love it! Im a vetrex owner who has 80+ games for it and this is right up my alley. Old school goodness at it's finest. I can't wait for your Tempest and Star Castle inspired games. Just add survival mode and gamecenter and it will be perfect. Thxs devs!

Brings back the memories

This game is cool on so many points. Every level is color vector graphics, with many backdrops that remind me of games that would reflect screens over static backdrops (think Asteroids deluxe arcade machines.). Sound effects remind me of plenty of old school games. The play is somewhat like asteroids, but with plenty of twists. Every level has a theme having you shoot satellites, spaceships, moon cheese, and other things to pieces, collecting salvage where possible, and shooting UFOs in hopes of bonus points. Bonus levels occur, each with a new objective. It has a playful humor. all this combines to make a highly addictive shooter.

Nice!

Bought it for the graphics and effects. Runs great on iPad 1.

Just one of those retro-styled games you'll go nuts over

This game plays beautifully on my 4th gen. iPod touch. The graphics are superb. The fusion of Vertrex and Asteroids! Definitely worth a buck. Please add music that would compliment the gameplay, though. Other than that, it's perfect!

Ground Control to Major Tom

These guys really got it right. The graphics, sound and gameplay transport you back to a day of pushing quarters into machines while giving it a modern fresh feel. This game hits it on all cylinders and I struggle to find fault with it. Graphics: The colorful vector graphics are reminiscent of Space Dual and Tempest shellacked with a delicious glowing candy coating. The lines are crisp and really pop on my iPad1. Our little spaceman hero navigates effortlessly across a sugary starfield with beautifully rendered backgrounds. Every detail down to the font choices and the strobing multicolor text all tip their hat to the 80's. Sound: This is really where this game pulls away from the pack. You can tell that great care was put into the sound design. Sound is equally as important as the visuals and these guys get that. Kudos. It's like Robotron, Defender and Astroids collided together and sung out in harmony. The sounds used to start each level and tally up the score at the end of each level are brilliant. The Gary Newman'esque title music leaves you wanting more as an underlying soundtrack to the game, but this doesn't happen. May I suggest a Space Junk soundtrack in the iTunes Music Store? Gameplay: Controls are smooth and more than adequate to perform the task at hand. The themes of each level and their names are brimming with creativity. Replay value is high as it never gets old blasting space junk. The multiple difficulty levels and gameplay achievements to unlock will keep most players busy for awhile. Support great game making and buy this title. For $.99, perhaps it should be called Space Robbery, because it's a steal!

Love it.

This game is fantastic! Best strategy I've found so far is to not shoot anything at first, but fly around til the UFO's find ya, then shoot them & grab their upgraded weapons, & then go after the space junk, & then only one at a time, or you'll be overwhelmed by debris. Still really challenging, but it's so beautiful to look at. If the planets in the background moved around, I think it'd bee too hard. Love this!

Better than Asteroids ever was

Great looking, just keep firing, totally addictive.

Dope!

I gave it a try, and was glad I did! Just try it! It's universal too!

Outstanding Retro Tribute!

Mitchismo

The gameplay is perfectly addictive--better than any emulation. And the graphics? Oh my goodness! They've captured old vector goodness so accurately, it boggles the mind. This is what a classic arcade tribute should be! An improvement in every way to the originals they draw inspiration from (deeper gameplay, upgrades, etc…)--but with every aspect visually that makes it tickle your nostalgia. What a game. Well done!
