• If you are after a premium style experience a campaign purchase is available which will auto-buy the entire 18 level campaign for you, so you can play through the whole campaign and save your currency for other stuff like upgrades.
• The gem purchases are purely optional accelerators. If you want to instantly upgrade everything to max and power through the higher difficulties then these are for you.

I like the game I wish that you could upgrade the speed of building structures. And zooming out further would be a nice feature. It would be nice to have a mining mode where you can just mine for hours

New update 12/15: This latest update includes an in app purchase for $2.99 which unlocks the whole campaign AND disables ads. They were unobtrusive before (only at the end of a mission) but I'm happy to support the developers so I bought it! The cool thing is that you get all your in game currency that you've spent unlocking levels back, so easy decision! There are still some bugs here and there, but I'm confident they'll work it out. Five stars! --------------- Original review: Am I the first to review this? I'm surprised this isn't more popular. It worries me that the game won't be supported in the future if there is no interest... Can I buy an IAP to disable ads? I'm considering buying the campaign so I don't have to grind as much. There is in game currency - gems which I have had no need to use so far (and are pretty easy to accrue) and there is also cash which you spend on upgrades to your base defenses. Off to a great start, thanks Origin!

A great variation of a TD game. Origin 8 did it again with another great game. There's a little bit of learning curve, but the core mechanics of a TD game is there. Music is great as well, mix of techno and electronica. Not over the top like other games, actually pleasant to listen to.
Game is great but...

Game overall is pretty remarkable. I've been waiting for a game like this for several years now and I'm definitely excited for this release. However, the primary thing that's ticking me off is that the "bucks" rewarded after missions are inadequate for the way that upgrades work in this game. I'm all for earning currency to buy upgrades to make the experience more enjoyable but when it takes 4-10 missions (which can easily surpass an hour of gameplay time) to upgrade ONE piece of equipment 5-10% (This is not accounting for the cost to unlock the equipment) it becomes tedious. It is also important to keep this in mind after considering that the costs become greater per upgrade. Aside from that particular detail the game is very aesthetically pleasing, challenging, and fun. All I ask is that either upgrade the percentage by which upgrades go up or or to increase the amount of bucks rewarded per mission to make it easier to reach those higher tier upgrades. I'm excited for what is to come and I will gladly change my review if something is done to mend that particularly tedious mechanic

I've been waiting 5 years for a sequel. Hands down one of the best Strategy games on mobile (right next to FTL).
Nowhere near as good as the original

I've been waiting for this for a long time, but this was a huge letdown. First major problem: the camera. It's basically a 2D game enhanced with 3D graphics, but the camera angle is way too low for it to work well, and it doesn't zoom out far enough. It should be a top-down game like the original. Next up is the story. I don't even know if there is one, because the first few missions are like ultra-basic tutorials for all the new stuff and it got boring very fast. I was expecting to jump in and deal with the same bad guys as in the original, armed with superior tech and more firepower, but it looks like you're just fighting pirates. The biggest letdown is the graphics. I appreciate good graphics very much, and what we have here is a cartoonish game with low-poly models. It looks like it was make by a four year old. The guns don't look like guns, the shipyard looks like a barn, and the pirate ships look like paper planes. All this with ugly flat shading, yet it manages to chew through my battery like nothing else. This is pathetic.

This has provided me with over a day of play time and is still challenging and winnable. It takes a few rounds to get into it and becomes much better paced after everything is unlocked. This is one of the best games and very well balanced. Just about to begin the campaign again on Psycho difficulty. To the developers, great job! Would recommend.
