You finally did it Steinberg, this is what I was actually waiting for! To tell you the truth I was also hoping for an option to change your metronome sounds into customary sounds of your choice. I have a couple of personal metronome sounds that I have created and added them to Cubase and Nuendo so I can hear them better to record my music. Other than that, good job and keep it up!
As with all metronome apps I've used, tap tempo is nearly useless. Might be a limitation of iPhone. Same goes for the delay when you hit 'play'... I use my old dr beat metronome to match the tempo of an existing track... Tap the tempo and then play the metronome along with the track to confirm. Wish I could use my phone...
It's simple yet has exactly what I want most of the time, tempo and time signature that includes odd meters. I have other metronome apps that do a lot more, but their interfaces are also much more complicated and it's way too easy to accidentally get into modes for selecting various features. This metronome is exactly right!
With the update now adding volume control, Smart Click covers exactly all the features I needed. So far, I haven't noticed any skips while using, but I've only used the metronome for a couple hours total, as I don't always need my phone as a metronome. Works great otherwise, thanks devs!
Excellent app. Everything it does it does very well. Feature Request: Some music uses tempo-related music terms without numerical tempo marks. It would be nice to have a reference chart within the app which converts musical tempo terms (i.e. "Largo" or "Allegro" with a range of metronome markings.
It only does what it's supposed to do and nothing more. Very simple and the cost is right. If you don't want to buy a metronome, you owe it to yourself to give this app a shot.
It's a great metronome. It'd be awesome to have an update with an option to save the settings (for example saving time signature so it doesn't reset to 4/4 when I quit the app) and also an option to turn of the accent on the downbeat. Other than that it's all perfect.
Cubasis offers to enter fractions of BPM (up to one-tenths) but this app offers only whole integer values making it useless when we need to set BPM with precision such as 90.2. Please allow fractional values and I’ll update my rating to 5 stars.
