Best reddit app hands down.

Austin_710

I never write reviews but after alien blue was taken down I searched for a new reddit app. After a but of searching and comparing, slide has the most features and customization that I’ve seen. It’s amazing on iPads as well... Do yourself a favor and go ahead and download it.

Updates! Huzzah!

LuddyPuppy

Great job with the updates guys! Love the inclusion of haptic touch for images and the improved responsiveness on video scrubbing, makes the app just that more comfortable and easy to use. Keep em coming!

Almost there

Love the look and feel. Missing some major components: 1. No notifications for replies or messages to posts or comments. 2. Cross post should automatically copy the original title. 3. Sharing posts to external apps should have the ability to copy the original title.

Each feature added brings more and more bugs

In the last couple builds there were a ton of new, and poorly designed layout changes. Now the app freezes just scrolling through subs, will randomly close out completely. Viewing a gif and rotate the screen? Now its playing half off the side of your phone and/or is playing at 2fps. At one point this was a great app. Its a constant frustration now.

What a fantastic app

I have tried Apollo and hated it. So for the longest time I was just using the native Reddit app. This app caught my eye the most of all others so I gave it a shot and I’m so glad I did, I should have switched sooner. First thing I did was tweak and customize the UI almost exactly how I like it. I liked the app so much I went ahead and purchased pro to support the developer and unlock a few neat features to enhance my experience. The gallery view is refreshing and well done. There are only 3 things I’d like to see added: 1. Toggle to disable browser button. 2. Toggle to move back button to bottom right for ergonomic one handed browsing for those who have big phones and small hands. 3. Toggle to disable backing out of a post by sliding right. I’ve accidentally backed out of a post scrolling through comments numerous times.

UI Nightmare

Lures you in with the good looks, but: - Can’t tap/swipe outside pop ups for comments to close (universal expected behavior), need to scroll up for X...but not too slow! - Breaking their own convention, you have to swipe away subreddit info screens, no X. And tons of other inconsistencies. - Subreddits you don’t subscribe to open in miniature pop out like comments. Waste of space. - In fact poor use of space all over. - Settings are vague and don’t explain what they do. - Settings are organized so related items are in completely different screens. - Disregard for Apple design language. I am a UX designer. This app clearly doesn’t employ anyone in that position or, if they are, are being ripped off and stolen from. Right now they’re getting by on the lack of options and poor official app. Combine this with eye-candy to catch the lay person’s gaze.

Crashes a lot

Mat596

I really like this app, and I actually prefer it over the Reddit app, but I wouldn’t give it a five stars because of the constant freezing, crashes, and laggy interface I often get.

Wonderful!

The app is awesome I absolutely love the rounded edges design I feel that’s exactly what iOS is about. All that’s needed I think is smoother scrolling and avatars for subreddits. Keep up the good work! Hopefully more updates to come!

Great app

Love the detailed appearance options. Main reason I like this app is for the grid/panel view. Only thing that I sometimes have issues with are the button (hitbox?) sizes, for example the upvote buttons sometimes don’t register or I’ll try to click it and Ittl bring up the post rather than upvote. Other than that I think it’s the best reddit app on the market

Fills up storage

LowOnSpace

Theres a bug which causes the app to take up 20+ gigs which ends up in you having to reinstall and lose all custom settings. Still hasnt been fixed after 3 updates with no fix in sight...
