Amusing but Too Random
Gungsplatter

Kind of cute if you just want to walk around and swat at things for a little while. There are also some little secrets to discover, which is always fun. Everything is random, however, and while the monsters gradually get tougher, your skills and equipment don’t keep pace. There’s almost no sense of progression from game to game, and achieving the hardest objectives seems laughably unlikely. There’s also a “crafting” ability which doesn’t seem to do anything. All in all, it’s a game that’s fun to explore for a while but which is too disconnected and luck-based to be satisfying in the long run.

XS Max, iOS 12.x

Surprising depth that would keep me coming back for more were it not for how poorly the app handles landscape on XS Max. The game and inventory screen, which are side-by-side in landscape, fail to take advantage of the screen area (ie, both are quite small in landscape) and the inventory appears shaded. In other words, the UI—too small and dark in landscape mode—interferes with what otherwise would be an exceptional experience. Note that SQ requires a great deal of inventory management (read: screen taps), which makes switching back and forth so often in portrait mode feel quite onerous. It just doesn’t feel good to play in its current state.

Quit being Jackasses FIX THE GAME
SeekethJesus

It would be real easy to 'fix' this game. read all of the viewer complaints and adjust the game. What happened here is that the game ended up being promoted by the app store and the developers got their money. they will probably never fix the game.

Really boring. The bad design problem here is that 90% of the monsters pose no real threat to you. They are only there to drain you of a tiny bit of weapons|health. But they can’t actually kill you. This is bad design because it makes the game very uninteresting—more of a matter of managing resources than actually fighting and adventuring. I guess if you enjoy managing resources you may enjoy this stinker.

Fun but not worth $3
PapaRando

This is fun but it’s expensive

Dreadful waste of money.
Orowam

Roguelikes are based on random chance and skill to survive a situation. Instead this game has you do random things against random monsters for absolutely no reason. If “good gameplay” is considered walking back and forth in a hallway and hitting every creature you find, then this is a jackpot. Since that’s obviously not good gameplay, it’s safe to say this is an overpriced, untuned waste of your time.

Game plays well, But..
EagleAt755

Sooner or later we run out of food and weapons. There is a ‘crafting’ stat, but weapons do not craft. There is an ‘alchemey’ stat, but potions do not mix, ingredients do not drop, etc. There is a merchant, but too few coins. I don’t know how far the game goes, or even if the game reaches an end.

Long Term Game

Many of the classes you can unlock require serious time put in the game. There is one unlocked by the mail list but will not unlock despite having signed up.

OrangePixel forever!! =D

Yet again, it's an OP game that's quite a bit deeper than it seems at first. There's so many little things to discover and play with (I'd list off some things here, but I don't want to spoil anything for anyone). For a game with two options at any given time, it's a great turn-based roguelike. If you're a fan of the genre, this is most definitely a game you should devote some time to. Wonderful OrangePixel graphics, wonderful OrangePixel gameplay... Can't ask for more. =D **UPDATE** This game has received quite a few updates since its release... It's given players a lot of new enemies, enemy clusters and new areas/items/playable characters to explore and try to find/unlock... Ensuring a LOT more replay value. I can not praise this game enough. Chances are it'll be in my top 3 favorite games of 2018, if not my #1 favorite! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!
