used for years but suddenly went crazy

no problem over the years until i tried to use it yesterday. (i use an interval timer infrequently... only when marathon training to conserve battery on my garmin). yesterday i fought it for 2 miles and finally shut it off. every time my phone locked it stopped timing. i had to unlock my phone for it to run and then as soon as my phone locked it stopped. frustrated, downloaded a different one to use going forward.
