Simple Interval Timer (SIT) can be used for any kind of interval training, such as running, cycling, HIIT sessions (including Tabata method), stretching, etc.

SIT is exactly what you would expect. An interval timer, which is easy to set up and use. It features a nice plain design, with no unnecessary controls.

Adjust Number of Sets, Action and Break duration to your needs and you are ready to go!

On the iOS an extra switch control allows you to prevent the screen from dimming.

SIT remembers the last 5 configurations you have used. Swipe left across the Settings screen to switch to another configuration.

SIT can run in the background, while you are playing music, watching videos or doing anything else on your iOS device.

SIT Watch features the same simplicity as the iOS app while offering the same functionality, plus it will measure your heartbeat during the workout sessions. The recordings will be available in the Apple's Health app.

SIT Watch runs independently of the phone, so no need to have your phone around during your workouts (although you will need your phone during the very first time you launch SIT watch).

SIT lets you avoid any tedious set up and focus on your training!

I just wanted an app that would beep every minute. This app would skip minutes when running in the background, and while adjusting the parameters it would reset.

Finally a free app that doesn't limit the number of times you can use the timer before you have to pay! Worked perfectly for the circuit I use for working out. It was so nice not to have to reset a timer between each exercise. The app also counts down the last three seconds so you know when to switch. Great app!

I’ve noticed sometimes when I lock the screen it doesn’t count accurately. I’ve ran 3min intervals that were only supposed to be 2mins

It's a very minimal app and very simple to use. While there are other apps that provide more features, a lot are not user friendly and are not simple. If you want simple and straight forward this app is PERFECT except for one thing! If there was a way to create a save list for different routines then this app would be perfect! Other apps have it but aren't simple to figure out so I can deal with constant changing of sets and intervals because it's a simple app to use!

I'm new to interval training and downloaded a few applications to try with my workouts. This is the most straight forward and allowed me to easily set it for what I needed. Would definitely recommend!

My Opinion of the SIT App for intervals

This is very simple app but it gets the job done. I wish it allowed you to store multiple settings and have all the seconds (instead of increments of 5) but not a big deal.
