Waste

Save your time and money, poor functionality and not usefully to learn G1000.

Perfect with SLAVX.com Panel

CntryClub007

Incredibly affordable when used with a SLAVX Avionics Panel. Couldn’t be happier with this and X-Plane.

Slow Start...

cirrusbro

....but reading the Garmin Pilot Guide while learning the app is the way to go. Currently transition training in a Cirrus and this is very close to the real thing. Just remember to click in and click out on the FMS.

Not really a standalone app :(

The PFD app is excellent. It allows you to set heading, altitude and airspeed to run the simulation. But the MFD app does not have that function. Therefore it doesn’t really work as a simulator. I would like to use two iPads but there is the problem of having a second compatible iPad... perhaps it should run on the iPhone XS. Or at least let the PFD run on the iPhone so that It can give Hdg, alt, As vector info for the MFD app. .... Here’s an idea why not just allow an iPhone to generate the vector information that would be transmitted by Wi-Fi so that the MFD can be used as intended?. The iPhone app would not need to do have the same functionality as the PSD just throttle, heading, vertical speed and altitude....

Good app with the PFD

This works good with the PFD app, so you need two iPads to make it work, I could not get it to work by itself, but it works great with the PFD app. I have one hardware bezel from the author, and I am saving money for another. I would give it 5 stars if it worked on its own, I did try to contact the author through his website, but I received no reply. The nice thing it works with any plane in X-Plane 11. Connection to X-Plane is easy, and I haven’t had any connection issues, connection to the PFD on the other iPad has been working flawlessly. Using the direct to airport and creating a flight plan has also worked flawlessly, I haven’t tried this on FSX yet, I would like to see support for other planes.

Freezes at mfd/pfd connect screen

ombevorder

Mfd waste of money. Both iPad find each other’s IP, but then just stay frozen at connect screen. Ipads have 128 & 64 GB iPad Air and iPad Pro. Wrote to developer no response Pfd works great by itself

Now 5 Stars. Phenomenal App.

Works almost seamlessly with the primary flight display. Really nice for simulating a glass panel on X-Plane with the Sid, Star and approach functions, worth its price many times over. Few glitches but dev continues to update.

Crashes

JmacA10

The app loads and opens but crashes in about 30 seconds. I've tried it several times with the same results. I thougt this was a great deal but I wasted 10 bucks. Do not buy this.

Will not launch

Smacder

The app does not launch. Splash screen shows and then returns to home screen. App description says an ipad air is recommended but it may be that it will not work at all on older devices. If that is the case it should be made absolutely clear in the description. UPDATE: Tried this again on an iPad Air. It doesn't behave any better. Crashes after a few minutes at best, often crashes right from the splash screen.

Works like the real thing

I've been anxiously waiting to download the MFD app since I've been using the PFD successfully for about a year. I installed the PFD on an iPad2 and the MFD on my iPad mini (retina display), and it worked flawlessly from the start. I fly a C-182T with the Garmin G1000, and haveconvinced other pilot to download the app and connect to their flight simulators (X-plane in my case) in order to familiarize themselves with the system without the expense of having to go out to the airport and fire up the real thing. I am able to setup my home airport when not using the flight simulator, so even as a standalone tool, it gives you what you need to train yourself or others. This tool in invaluable for G1000 pilots. This is well worth the $10 price.
