Just okay. Should be a free app.

Greg's iTunes Acct.

There are no instructions in the app, and since the sound on my iPad was not functioning properly I couldn't figure out what was supposed to be happening. I had to go back to the iTunes store to read the description to figure it out. All of the words are written in capital letters, and this is not how beginning readers are used to seeing them, so some children will not recognize the words that they have been taught to read elsewhere. Also, the wrong answers that the children are given to choose from should be taken from the same list as the ones they are drilling from for maximum exposure. The last problem is that there is no reward for getting it right, but if you get the answer wrong, you are rewarded with a fun body part illustration added to the picture. It should be more fun to get it right than get it wrong!

great for our 5yr old

This app makes learning sight words fun

Fun learning game!

Fun way to learn sight words! My kids (5 and 9) like this app very much especially the hangman. The game is very easy to play and has great educational value.

Basic game could be improved

Utrecht1011

The game is pretty basic. If you select the correct word (from about 5 words), it pronounces the next word to select. If you get it wrong, the hangman gets activated. When he is complete, you lose. It would be much better if you had to actually spell the word, not just click on it from a list. Also mix and match list would be great and more option of words. This game is just really basic.

Not impressed

SLP 4 kids

This truly is basic but in terms of literacy facilitation it has flaws. The words that are listed along with the target word should be similar to the target word in either spelling or pronunciation, so we know the child is truly reading and not just using their knowledge that the word presented starts with an s so they choose the ONLY word in the list starting with s. My 8 yr old is completely bored by this. Would have liked to see an option to spell words, perhaps, too. I also have concerns about the words chosen for the lists, if this is truly aimed at 4-6 yr olds learning sight reading. Some more phonemically advanced words are mixed with simple words. Thankfully I got it during a free promo.

Great way to learn sight words

Emma Bean's Mom

This is a really nice way for our son to learn sight words. The app has flash cards and setting can be made harder so that it isn't as easy to guess. It's easy to use and has no ads. Neat app!

Fun learning game

AngLyn

This is great for kids a little more advanced than my special needs daughter for the game part but love the flash card portion for her!

Fun!
