Civilization VI requires iOS 11 and an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus, iPhone 8 or 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017, or any iPad Pro.

Civilization VI offers new ways to interact with your world, expand your empire across the map, advance your culture, and compete against history’s greatest leaders to build a civilization that will stand the test of time. Play as one of 20 historical leaders including Roosevelt (America) and Victoria (England).

Originally created by legendary game designer Sid Meier, Civilization is a turn-based strategy game in which you attempt to build an empire to stand the test of time by leading a civilization from the Stone Age to the Information Age. Explore a new land, research technology, conquer your enemies, and go head-to-head with history’s most renowned leaders as you attempt to build the greatest civilization the world has ever known.

Civilization VI offers new ways to engage with your world. Cities now physically expand across the map, active research in technology and culture unlocks new potential, and competing leaders will pursue their own agendas based on their historical traits as you race for one of five ways to achieve victory in the game.

EXPANSIVE EMPIRES:
See the marvels of your empire spread across the map like never before. Each city spans multiple tiles so you can custom build your cities to take full advantage of the local terrain.

ACTIVE RESEARCH:
Unlock boosts that speed your civilization’s progress through history. To advance more quickly, use your units to actively explore, develop your environment, and discover new cultures.

DYNAMIC DIPLOMACY:
Interactions with other civilizations change over the course of the game, from primitive first interactions where conflict is a fact of life, to late game alliances and negotiations.

COMBINED ARMS:
Expanding on the “one unit per tile” design, support units can now be embedded with other units, like anti-tank support with infantry, or a warrior with settlers. Similar units can also be combined to form powerful “Corps” units.

LOCAL MULTIPLAYER:
In addition to traditional multiplayer modes, cooperate and compete with your friends in a wide variety of situations all designed to be easily completed in a single session.

A CIV FOR ALL PLAYERS:
Civilization VI provides veteran players new ways to build and tune their civilization for the greatest chance of success. New tutorial systems introduce new players to the underlying concepts so they can easily get started.

Great mobile port with wonky DLC pricing
Nexxinus

This is now a great mobile port. When the game came out there were a ton of crashes and the pricing for the base game was unreasonable at $60. Most of the crashes seem to have been eliminated and the base game is now priced at $10 so it’s very easy to recommend. The rest of the DLC pricing is wonky though, at $30 just for Rise and Fall (meaning that the initial DLC costs 3 times as much as the base game). Considering you can get Civ 6 Gold on PC which includes the base game, Rise and Fall, and all the unit, nation and scenario packs for under $30 (Green man gaming, Fanatical, Steam sales, etc.), the DLC pricing still needs work. Rise and Fall should be on the order of $10 as well, since Aspyr did not develop the game but simply ported it over to mobile. Multiplayer doesn’t seem to work at all and there isn’t even an option for live multiplayer games, only local WiFi or play by cloud. I’ve never been able to get into a play by cloud game, so I would treat this as a single player game only. There are still some frustrating features of the mobile port that I don’t think work quite as intended. Moving more than a few tiles can be frustrating and some tool tips don’t work properly. Still, at $10 the base game is a fantastic deal. I’ll gladly pick up the DLC once it’s more reasonably priced, and I look forward to getting Gathering Storm eventually as well!

Love the game. Excited when online by cloud came out(thumbs up) . Joining a game is next to impossible.

Civ on a touch screen!
fluxcapacitormb

If you’re a Civ fan...buy this. Now. So sick. My only issue is that if you have your phone set to auto lock it will lock during the loading screen...sssuuuuuuuppppper annoying. That and loading a save game does NOT need to have Ned Stark re-reading that speech w every time, although that was in the pc version too. Also my iPhone 7plus is a tad too slow...slight chop and a very small screen for this but I guess that’s motivation to get an iPad finally. Way to go on Firaxis, 2K, and Asphyr for making this happen. You BH’s are gonna eat my free time away.

Amazing!!
Narwhal-The-Gamer

It’s worth the money, truly. I knew I needed to buy it after only having played the 60 turn allowance for 20 turns. It’s an amazing game! It drains your phone battery quite a bit, but just be close to a charger and everything will be great. I love the inventive idea of using turns rather than the average “this action will take three hours” type of game. It is already a game that takes quite a long time to complete, so adding a time stamp would be torture, as I normally spend days and days on one game. The turn system allows you to choose your own gaming schedule, you get to decide when the action is done based on how long you spend per turn. It’s a great idea. Final thoughts: it definitely deserves my five stars. I’m not one to write reviews normally, but this game has warranted it. Buy it, and you won’t regret it. Beautiful graphics, great gameplay, wonderful inventive turn system, and all wrapped up into the pretext of writing history to your will. Truly, a winner is you.

Does not work.

I downloaded and it does nothing but open and close.

Beta Version of Rise and Fall should be Free
OldtimeAlphafan

Once again I have been duped into paying for a product that is not ready for the consumer market. After fixes to the original Civilization 6, there are now issues with the Rise And Fall version that I paid for. The screen freezes up and I’m forced to close the app and try to reopen it. Since this is still in Beta test mode you shouldn’t charge users for it. You should offer it to us for free in order to report bugs and crashes to you to fix these issues before you offer it to consumers.

Best game in App Store
JJ Stalin

Hands down the best game in the App Store. It’s worth the price and if you’re worried why the rating is down it’s just because of a past bug that has been fixed. It works perfectly and plays just like the computer game.

So Sad
MisterNasty

There’s no character animations on iOS ???

Great game but I don’t trust the developers
Clara Dooley

The game is great but the expansion is insanely overpriced. It doesn’t seem any better than the full version of the game so why should anyone buy an expansion?? Also, it was irresponsible for the developers to release a faulty version of the game just so they could make money on the expansion. They have lost my trust and I refuse to buy the expansion and would suggest the same to everyone else.
