Fan Reviews
"The Best Movie App. …When it comes to finding a movie, Showtimes is my favorite app of the bunch." 4.5 of 5 rating — 1.5 higher rating than the nearest competitor. - Macworld
“I tend to be a movie junkie, so this little application uses your current location to find the nearest movie theaters and shows you the show times. Enough said there — A+.” - MikeTHIS!
“By far, better than any other free movies app. Slick, intuitive and finds where you are. Simply the best.” - User - Analytic
Like the other reviewers, I used to love this app, but it has gone down hill. I always get an error message when I open it, and there are no updates. You guys just gave up on this app? Then say as much, and tell e everyone that the app is no longer functional!
I love the clarity and ease-of-use of this app, really good user interface design. But as others have noted the movie titles and posters and reviews are often mis- matched, and showtimes sometimes incomplete as well, so I always have to double check with the theater I’m going to.
Is this app still supported. I do not see any recent update and have been getting error messages upon opening the app.
This app used to be good. Not anymore. The movie titles are mismatched with the pictures and trailers.
I have always liked this app the best of all the movie apps. Yes, like the other review, sometimes the picture is mis-matched with the movie - but overall still my favorite!
It took me to the wrong movie theater showing times so I missed my movie.
I had to delete this app as the movie listings were sometimes incorrect, and the app seems to contain a nasty virus from its ad network. I’ve shown up at local theaters based on this app only to find the movies aren’t released yet and open the next day or next week. The movie posters and trailers almost never match the movie titles. Most recently in February 2019, the app seems to have a virus where inappropriate pop up ads take over the screen. This doesn’t happen in any other app I have, so it appears to be stemming from this app rather than my iPhone.
Had this app for years and rarely had problems. However recently (past few months), the poster photos for the movies get mixed up and it’ll show random ones (sometimes a movie that’s not even been playing recently?), as well as random dates. Makes the process much more confusing because I don’t really trust that the titles are right either. I’m just gonna stick with googling showtimes & delete the app because its just not worth the hassle anymore. It’s been a good run, but now it’s not worth the hassle.
It would be nice to review and do your theater going planning on something bigger than a phone, but all they have is a phone app. You can use the phone app on the iPad and get tickets easily enough, but getting them from the iPad to the phone requires a lot of steps and, as of yet, I have not figured out how to go from the iPad app to the phone wallet. If they had an iPad version, I’d probably give it three stars. It’s difficult to find some information, such as whether or not particular showing is in IMAX – you have to actually go through the process of buying a ticket to find that out. Overall, the interface could use some serious attention.
