I like this game a lot; what else could I ask for? It has a chill game system and a heartwarming story. But the letters in which the story is told from are quite confusing, so maybe by including dates or flashbacks narrated by the grandmother in the game could make the story more cohesive.

Cute game. A button popped up that said something about getting an ad free version for $0. I figured it was a special promotion going on for just this moment, since I downloaded it during the holidays. Then I get a receipt from Apple in my email saying that apparently I just paid 99¢ for it. This isn’t catastrophic a loss, but it did make me nervous.

Sweet and calming

A very sweet, low maintenance app that helps me relax. The atmosphere and aesthetic is very nostalgic and calming! There are some distracting ads but I don’t mind them too much since they support the creators. <3 Be sure to check out all their other games!

The Last Letter

I just read the last letter to Grandma and I am oddly sad - because it means that the game is over & done now. It’s utterly charming, and it’s caused me to seek out all the other apps and download them. Now if I could just make myself play only one at a time, they will last longer!

Best $2.99 I’ve spent in a while. (Yes, I ponied up for “VIP”. Yes, it’s worth it.) Showa Candy Store 1 is sweet, nostalgic and s-l-o-www. It takes forever to get a customer to show up. But Candy Store 2 as a VIP is out of control. Instead of the customers walking out the door they came through after paying (CS1), they fly through walls, spin and vibrate like demented poltergeists! They play hide-and-seek! Love the ridiculous capsule vending machine. Would totally dust my allowance on these stellar prizes. But working in the shop, earning obasan’s trust so you can read her personal letters, and learn her history is the real prize. All to the sounds of shouting children, and cicadas in summer (nice touch). First rate work guys!
