You have to fix it this is so bad

Latest update fails me

RESPONSE TO DEVELOPER’S RESPONSE: I see from many other reviews since your latest update that I’m not the only one disappointed in the removal of that song icon on the Songs Page. Just add it back. Why so obstinate about it? Clearly, a lot of us used this app perfectly fine that way. You’ve got some weird chip on your shoulder about putting that icon/functionality back. Just put the icon back so we can get back to using it the way we have for YEARS, and get over your obsession with insisting we can use it your way successfully. In my field, we just can’t. —— I’ve been with this app almost from the beginning. Years and years I’ve put into my lyrics and chords. Years of emails and suggestions and questions to improve the app, but I didn’t even think it needed much improving. Then— the latest update comes along and makes the app stop working for me. Not that it freezes or doesn’t work, per se. it doesn’t work with how I was using it. See, I’m a piano player who takes request during performances and needs to add and edit chords/lyrics on the fly. I’m talking, someone hands you a $20 bill with a request for a specific song? You find those lyrics, add to your song list, and play immediately. But with the new update, you can’t click on a full page of the chords to play from the Songs list anymore. They took away that feature. I’m being forced to leave the “Songs” tab and go into either a smart list or set list. Well, in either of those areas, I can’t add a song on the fly anymore. And it takes me nearly five clicks to go backwards and get to where I can add a song quickly like I used to. When I write the developer about this, I am blamed for using the app incorrectly. I’m told to find the lyrics elsewhere and don’t close the tabs and add LATER. What? How is that a workaround? And how is that an answer to blame ME for using an app incorrectly when I’ve used it successfully for YEARS as it was. This app used to be a solid five stars. Not sure what happened to make the developer decide to take away good and usable features, nor do I understand the incredible reluctancy by the developer to add a simple + Add Song button to Smart Lists or to bring back the ability to open the chords/lyrics from the Songs tab like they used to. After so many years of being devoted to this app and suggesting it to so many other musicians, I’m cast aside. Arlo— I’m disappointed in you.

Removed functionality

Fastplant

I wish I could explain to the app developer how badly I need to be able to view the song in the Songs tab. This functionality helped immensely in rehearsals when I would need to both play and edit songs at the same time as well as add new songs. This one function missing has really made it hard to use the app as there are no work around that are as quick and easy as it used to be. I’ve been told to use the Smart Lists but they don’t work nearly as simply and quickly. I’d be happy to discuss why this doesn’t work with the app developer if they’re interested.

Terrible

I wanted this to work and I spent a lot of time with it. It’s not intuitive at all. The features have to be implemented from different pages. Ultimately, it just did not work. I got a few replies from tech support that we’re not helpful. Sad.

Update even worse

Update: upon updating the app it’s now officially completely useless. Unbelievable. Whoever developed this trash ought to be ashamed of themselves. Enjoy my five dollars you conned out of me

Keeps getting better

This app is pretty amazing! It just keeps getting better. Great job Arlo for making it easier for musicians to create set lists and keep different collections of songs at your fingertips. So many great features in this app. I use this exclusively for set lists now. I am in three different projects and it’s very helpful with different singers, musicians, genres of music, etc. fabulous communication from the developer as well. Very timely and informative. Huge fan!

I want my money back

In the begging the app was good, now I can not work with it! Why did you change the things they made this app great? How to work now?

The best app of its kind available

Nosfar

I used setlists for a long time but it hasn’t been updated in years and gets buggier over time and as OS changes occur so I’ve been searching for an alternative. I tried so many others and none did everything I wanted, or just felt as good as setlists did in its heyday. Having used BandHelper in the past I decided to give this one a go (I rarely need lyrics apps unless it’s a last minute gig or I suddenly have to learn a lot of new songs, otherwise I prefer the more professional approach of knowing the tunes and not having an iPad on stage). This app does everything I need an more and does it elegantly. It just feels great and works. I just input over 100 songs using the built in lyric search and it went smoothly and quickly. Finally, I think I can stop looking for “something better.” To the developer: please a million times, please, never keep this app alive forever! I’m so dependent on it now and I hope I can keep using it for the rest of my life!

I’m very annoyed and upset I spend 15$ on this. It will not allow you to put your own songs Into it which says it’s intended to do so in the app! I’m furious

Not very intuitive! Too complicated!

Guitarman08

If you’re at a gig you want to call up your set list and your songs quickly you don’t want to be navigating, toying around trying to find out where the hell they are! Worst $15 I ever spent wish I could get my money back! Whoever designed this needs to rethink about the ease of calling up your song at your fingertips fast! Terrible
