Not good!!!!

VPOP Boston

My purpose to purchase this app that I can share my screen/music chart to all musician while playing on stage but the connectivity is really bad. When I open song/chart from the host iPad p, it takes too long to show change on the follower iPads. The test was to put 2 iPads side by side. To test putting away 5-10 ft then we couldn't get the connection at all. If u disregard this feature then I guess you are fine. If I don't need this wireless feature to share screen, then I rather use forScore or NextPage3 app instead

Worst app

Roddy Lopez

I got this app a few years ago and it was the greatest thing to have. Now it’s the worst app to have. I spent a lot for all the upgrades. And the sync is discontinued. Don’t get it unless he fixes it. It should get better not worst.

Good concept, horrible execution

STLPanther

Can’t get updates on our setlist. Synch doesn’t work. It’s fine as a set list and ability to add your notes to individual song, but the promise and the price were for much more than that... save your money. Btw. Looks like earlier versions were actually better. All the good reviews are from 4 yrs back. New reviews are all bad. Update Wow. See the developer’s smug response. Now I really would advise you to save your money and use an alternative.

Loving this app

Moonmantom

I play i a praise team, and have been using this app for about 2 years now. I love that I can download a song from song select and insert it right into the app. I use pads that I can start from this app... really all around great app. the rest of my time uses the Band App, and love it as well. Argo is awesome when it comes to tech support, top notch in fact!

Great lyric book!

I’ve been a singer for a long time. All different genres and styles. As such I have a boatload of notebooks and 3-ring binders full of song lyrics. This AWESOME app allows me to put all of my lyrics in one place on my iPad. The ease of importing lyrics from the web made it so easy to transfer ALL of my song lyrics to the app. It’s really easy to put lyrics to your own songs in too. I’m involved in a few different projects, and always doing guest spots so I love having the ability to create set lists for each project using the master song list. This is a great app. I no longer have to carry a huge case with books full of lyrics. Worth every penny just for that! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Used to be great.

Response to developer: Just because you announce something six months in advance does not make it right. You have changed your original product and its functionality (as many have paid for) in order to force people to move to another product with a monthly subscription. It’s wrong. When Bandhelper reaches is it saturation what next? Update: What a scam! Create a great app, get everyone to buy it, and then make it worse so you are pushed to buy his other app with a monthly subscription fee. Guess it wasn’t working that well because now he takes away syncing which is what buyers have already paid for. The price of this app has also gone way up - I’m sure to force you to do the same. I will not buy BAND HELPER for this reason and encourage others to do the same. I will be filing a complaint with Apple. Feels like extortion to me. ————————- This used to be the greatest program - worthy of awards. I have recommended it to many musician friends and colleagues. With the latest major upgrade I now hate it and it seems to be the consensus with those that I have spoken with. The problem with the latest version is that too much time is spent on unnecessary configuration and formatting. That's what programmers are for. The whole look and operation is now uncomfortable. What used to be a no-brainer, simple to use program now requires a learning curve. Not that I can't figure it out, but I find myself spending way too much time trying to configure the software and it takes time away from what it's really all about - the music. I have been using the new version for weeks now and I still get frustrated at every gig. The fact that you need to watch videos to learn it and are instructed to do so speaks volumes. We all finally decided at our last gig to ditch it. What a shame. I will probably still archive my lyrics and music library here but can no longer recommended it for the performing musician. Back to printed set lists for a while. There is a lot here but much is really unnecessary for most performing musicians. Ideally, I would like to see the old version come back and then offer this version for those who have the need, desire and patience to spend the time it takes. I have a lot of respect for Arlo Leach and his programming abilities but this version is more about the programming than the music. As the old saying goes "if it ain't broke don't fix it." I need a Set List Maker!

Feel cheated

Worked fine, three band members payed fir the upgrade so we could sync songs, only to see that feature removed so we’d be forced to buy his other app. Would be ok if we got a refund, or even a free year on the newer app. No such luck. Stay away from this developer, can’t be relied on.

yes, used to be great

If i can only cleanup my database of mistakes doing batch imports of songs and midi presets, AND copy songs and midi presets between databases (for different bands) I would keep using this. I feel like i deserve these simple features for the money I paid. I am used to selecting multiple things in deleting in almost every computer I use. Pretty simple it seems. But no, still not available despite it being pretty obviously needed by others in the forum. Honestly, NOT to bash, just an honest observation, the developer got greedy, it seems. I have seen logical and reasonable feature requests that got answered with something like, “Sorry not available but if you upgrade to bandhelper...” I have switched to OnSong.

Really miss the sync

TikiHutGuitar

This is still a fantastic app. I really miss the sync feature. I am a solo act with 3 different iOS devices. I wonder if there is a way to sync my devices over Bluetooth. Maybe a future update?

Not always intuitive, but does the job

Coop47

First thing to note is that the developers are very responsive to any issues you have, and the forum is a good source of information. There are so many features on this that it takes some time to figure out, but it does everything I need it to.
