Used to be great—Apple watch?

milotunes

Where has the support for Apple Watch gone? All of a sudden the app no longer shows up on the watch without notice?

Ugh

Too expensive, every other guy is partnered or poly or in an open relationship or cheating, and they want to charge you to filter for single guys. Why don't you guys go do something together and leave the rest of us the hell alone already.

Ads for Pro? Single guys??

I turned on touchid and it worked for a week. Now the app won't even open. Just fails the touchid check. Works fine to get into my phone! I pay for Pro specifically to get rid of ads, and that's all the app has now. This is just an app for hairy guys in open relationships or cheating. What happened to the single nice guys??

It was much better 3 years ago.

It's nice that the app is finally formatted to display correctly on an iPhone 6 Plus. I find that the "social engineering" aspects of this app have become much more lowest-common-denominator than it was at first. The "popularity contest" features are completely juvenile (not to mention, completely worthless with regard to the actual purpose of the app) and encourage guys to be vain and vapid. Yes it's nice that recent versions allow the user to disable that feature, but that wasn't quite my point. The real issue is that having the "popularity contest" features in the app at all (and enabled by default) tend to reward a particular type of generic "beauty" at the expense of everybody else. It's actually rude and a slap in the face to probably 99.9% of users, whether those users are self-aware enough to realize it or not. This app started out as a nice alternative for guys with a more "adult" mentality to find each other. That's what I found in 2011. The changes to this app over the last few years have actively degraded that aspect, and hastened a decline into base vapidity. It's far too much like Gr**dr now. There's even one user near me who has "allergic to facial hair" in his profile... If the owners of Scruff are actually trying to "grow the user base" by taking a more mainstream approach to the social engineering of the app, maybe a name change is needed. My personal observation is that this app is getting far less use than it was a few years ago.

I actually love this one the most

I don't understand how everyone else has a super negative thing to say about Scruff?? Of all the gay apps I've tried (& I've tried quite a few), this one always seems to come thru as the best working one out there. Super easy interface & very user-friendly. Loads of hot men on here & internationally (the Venture feature is such a wonderful idea). I've met some really awesome dudes on here, a few of which I've become really good friends with! I should mention that I am a PRO user & this is the only gay app I'd ever consider paying for because it's so worth it. I'll admit, the free version can be annoying AF with the whole not being able to see all photos in an album or not being able to scroll up the message history, etc. (Took off a star for that) But @ least these guys don't play you for your money like most other popular gay apps out there do...they know very well who they are (Grindr/Jack'd/VGL/etc.)

Great app, decent men.

The app works well. My complaint could be about the men. Is it wrong to hold out hope for the possibility of a relationship here when most want to hook up? Time will tell.

Amazing

Love this app, made some amazing friends. Never have any problems with it.

Best gay app

Easy to use, and highest quality of bear meat around.

SCRUFF is BY FAR the best gay app a available today! I'm on Grindr, Growler, Adam4Adam and SCRUFF is the only one that I willingly pay cash money for (PRO membership)... The interface of messaging is convenient. Additionally, I enjoy the MATCH feature. Recently, I became an Ambassador for my city, even.

All Star App

Scruff is by far the best of the gay social apps available. When I moved to NYC however many years ago, Scruff was the primary way I eventually met both friends and dates. The guys I've met through Scruff have all been genuine, interesting and most importantly...as they represented themselves. In addition - I find the features like the pic archive incredibly helpful as well as the ability to just attach a new picture. The most recent upgrade brings even more top-notch features like the ability to see who else is visiting a place I'm visiting. I will say I'm not crazy about all the red used within the design bc it drew my eyes to nonessential information, but I was able easily remedy that by inverting the colors under scruff's settings tab. All in all - a fantastic app! Big appreciations to all those that have made it happen!
