I LOVE my ScanSnap!!!

MrsMissy

After researching and debating and touching and reading COUNTLESS reviews, I decided three years ago to get the iX500 for our small local business. I loved it and am so glad I didn't got with the leading competitor. 18 mos ago I started traveling and needed a way to scan documents for various purposes (editing, emailing, saving to phone &/or laptop/desktop, etc) while away from home & bought the iX100. I LOVE it, too! The SS App: Pretty simple, pretty straight-forward & I appreciate that. Yes, sometimes it takes a minute to connect. But if I have an issue, I put my phone in airplane mode, turn on wifi, then connect w/o problems. Works just fine with both the iX500 & iX100. No issue with real estate on i6s. Truly I have only one issue with the app. My main complaint is that if for any reason you are interrupted while writing an email to explain the attachment, the email is wiped out. This is maddening!!! If you double-tap the home button to glance at a contact's name, a date on the calendar, or a calculation or anything, the email is gone. Phone call, gone. Push notification, VIP email, gone. No draft. Just Gone. Poof. Doesn't matter that you didn't reopen a previous screen, you have briefly interrupted the ScanSnap screen and lost it ALL. Start Over From Scratch. @Free couns bs, please don't trash your iX100! Send it to me! I could use a second one!

Love the product, app works perfectly

I cam home from shopping and scan my receipts right into my phone. No more lost receipts. Also can business cards. Wish it had a card app.

Happy with app. Works great with ix500

Coming from an older s1500 scanner, I'm really happy with upgrade to wireless ix500. I scan from ix500 wirelessly to computer and to my ipad using this app. Scanning to ipad app has been surprisingly easy and without problems. App scans fast, is simple and clean UI. One gripe I have it that it would be great for the app to prompt you what to name a file after scanning is complete. Options allow for varying formats of year/date/time etc, or allows you to create a custom filename which then adds a number to that name in subsequent scans. Right now I have to go to each file, edit and do a manual rename. I setup syncing with Dropbox, which was a breeze and works well.

General ok

The app does its job, can't say it's very excellent but it's good enough. Automatic uploading to google docs is truly wonderful. Please keep this up don't change it.

Good App for a Great Scanner!!!

vsatips

Fujitsu continues to update the functionality of this app making it better and better. I love the scanner and the app is getting to be a great tool too. Both save me hours and hours of time. I got the regular Fujitsu scanner instead of the Evernote version, sort of by mistake. At the time I got my scanner it turned out that the Fujitsu version was actually much better than the Evernote version. Now however the Evernote version has caught up in terms of features. I think both are great and they're both around the same price now. I wrote a long blog post comparing the two at vsatips.wordpress, and made a YouTube video showing how to use some of the features of both the scanner and the app...although it is an earlier version of the app. One reason I made the video was because sometimes it's hard to connect an iPad to the scanner. I covered some of the workarounds when this occurs. One is a glitch in the app which may have been fixed by now, but it made it look like you weren't connected when really you were. Another thing that many people forget is to sure that both the scanner and the iPad are on the same wireless network. And a third important thing to check is the Wi-Fi switch on the back of the scanner. I didn't even remember that the switch was there when we were having problems connecting one day. My husband noticed that somehow the Wi-Fi switch had been turned off. I love the new iCloud integration with the app! I generally save most of my scans to Evernote which is quick and easy using the app. My reason for giving this four stars instead of five is because of the little glitches that we sometimes encounter that seem to be app related, when we are trying to connect a new device. The other reason is because the app is a bit utilitarian and it requires more steps that I think should be necessary for performing some functions that you do over and over again... like adding a name to a document.

Less Google, not more

Not everyone thinks that inserting Google services everywhere, allowing them to siphon up yet more user data, is a good idea. Is this new authentication optional? If not, I'll stick with my current version.

Connection problems

Johnc2216

Used to work great - now it's a battle each time to connect to the scanner. Help!

Does not work with iOS 11

anisharora

Just upgraded to iOS11 and have been experiencing issues with connectivity. The connection to the scanner keeps dropping every few seconds and the app also crashes frequently. Hopefully there’s a fix soon!

No longer reliable

WalthamMan

Agree with earlier review. IOS 11 upgrade has caused app to repeatedly loose scanner connectivity. Dev needs to fix

Junk

I have tried this for months and it will not connect. Same error every time. Changed IP, changed port, changed password, still same error. Typical offshore garbage code with horrible documentation.
