This app is a joke. I tried to convert a typed document and it gave me half a line of gibberish.

As long as your page is flat and the light is good, your hand steady and the font legible, this app is surprisingly effective. But any variation in any of those will wreak havoc with the output.

I bought this app to scan recipes to put into a recipe manager. It was beyond useless. Even though the text was clear and legible, the OCR feature didn't recognize a single word. I even clean up the images and adjusted the contrast, it only read one word. CamScanner and Fine Scanner are both free and do a much better job. CamScanner was instantaneous and read 98% of my recipes. I would give this zero stars and ask for my money back if I could.
Works great on the iPhone 5 and 6. Excellent value for the money. Fast and amazingly accurate.

I scanned several different types of documents and I only managed to get the OCR to recognize 5 words in total. The scanner worked fine. But the OCR is useless!

Awesome! This app has immediately opened a much need door for fluid dialogue from images of text in foreign languages. The speed of conversation is quick enough to permit interchange of idea with people on social media. Though the translation is quick the accuracy of the translation from Russian is about 80% allowing for basic understanding.
