Better than CoC because you don't get trapped into in App purchases just to enjoy the game.

I'll admit the game was fun at the beginning and had me hooked. However, after being screwed over time and time again, I realized Samurai Siege was not worth playing anymore. I requested to become a VIP member for over 2 years but was told that I'll be put on the "waiting list" despite the fact that I spent a large sum of money, tried grinding for diamonds / onyx to even be considered in the competitive aspect, attempted to go for high ranks in events but always fell short due to the big spenders constantly "helping" other big teams thus leaving the f2p and semi-spenders with nothing, and the list goes on and on. Like many other reviews, you can't progress in the game without spending money. Climbing up to 10K honor, upgrading your entire base to the max level, and going for HOF are "accomplishments" where you MUST give up your time and money. I hope it's worth it for those who continue playing this game. In my opinion, Samurai Siege had a lot of potential to surpass Clash of Clans but fell short due to its greediness. At this point in the game, you earn less than what you spend. Thanks Space Ape.

If you like to spend real money to win, this game is for you. Do not plan on winning wars unless you spend real money. Lots of balance issues (snowball spell), and impossible to save up enough for high end upgrades, due to space ape wanting you to spend real money. War points are out of balance. It is fun at the start, and they are making improvements. The snowball has been balanced. Edit: much time has passed, still 1 star review, money grab, many aspect of game can not even be used if you don't constantly put forth large sums of money.

However..if you don't spend a lot of real money you cannot play..everytime you go out to fight the game puts you up against people you cannot beat...and to find someone you can reasonably fight with it costs tons of your cash....I had to get out of my alliance because I couldn't keep up financially.....sooooo disappointed?

Too many tournaments taking place. I enjoyed this game when events took place on holidays, now it is just a norm. Besides of that the bonus troop given to those who spends an excess amount of money are just too over powering. I am at castle level 8 after about two years, but I later decided to quit because I was just bringing ran over by bonus troops. I never thought I would say this, but Clash of Clans is probably a much better game now.

I've been playing SS for nearly 2 years. It was an amazing game and a lot more diverse and enjoyable than CoC. But as I continued to play, Space Ape keeps updating with these new package deals, army camps, and a ton of diamonds or onyx. I look at my battle history and mostly see people beating me with the Hero and and the clutter of camps. It's crazy and so unfair that these troops are unbelievably OP. I'm at Castle 12 and I have not paid a single penny for this game. I help and grind a lot thanks my alliance and how smooth the gameplay is. However, it's hard to compete with other alliances because they literally pay to win. I maybe at 8k war points after 4 hours of play while other teammates sit at around 20k within the same time. This game has lost its touch. It is increasingly more difficult to upgrade buildings due to more castle upgrades. But the p2w people can shove a couple $$$ and be at the top due to war point advantages at each castle level. They can easily buy powerful camps and destroy a village with only Hero and camps. with the Komi tree, their troops and buildings only amplify their nearly unstoppable forces. I wish Space Ape really fixes this problem with p2w vs. non-p2w. Edit: Because I put a lot of time and effort into this game and it just gets worst after each update. The pay to win is so prevalent, that many people, this game should be called, "Ultimate Pay2Win Samurai Fantasy." I've gotten so frustrated at the fact that this game promotes people to pay to get package deals to even stay up with the competition. Their is literally no honor in this game even though it measures you're trophies in "honor," This game is not meant for casual gamers anymore. Casual gamers like me. It gotten so pointless to compete that I only come on the app to upgrade my walls. Space Ape, please for the love of whatever holy being you believe in, fix this game! My name is Asiangamerrr, and I think this game is nothing more than a way for rich people to throw away their pocket change.
