What am I missing?

Ditto on other review: starts at 8 miles for half marathon? More than that; it lists the same data that is in the book but I still have to MANUALLY LOAD DATA into 2nd app like Run Keeper? Where is the "Start" button that loads this all? Run keeper at least has intervals and plans all pre built. Get me version 2.

Time saver

Love that this app calculates paces for the FIRST runs. It was very time consuming to flip through the book to lay out a training plan. But, please add the 10 mile race plan from your web site to the app! Regarding some of the other reviewers...they need to read the book. This is a planning aid for those who are following a very specific training plan for performance improvement. You need to have a solid base built up before doing these plans...that is why it assumes you can do an 8 mile long run off the bat. If you can't, get yourself a couch to or beginner plan and come back to FIRST to do time goal oriented training after you have a few races under your belt.

Getting Better Thanks for the Updates

tomteaspoon

Added marathon pace on race day which the book gives. Thanks for updating the app and integrating feedback

Convenient

KevinE77

Very convenient not having to haul my book around. Access to my training schedule anytime. A few discrepancies noted: week 4 final 20 miler pace is wrong. Week 7 speed workout does not match book.

Needs to sync with my IBook

Steve - 0

It's a great quick guide, but for the runs, it always says reference a page number in the "Run Less Run Faster" book. When I click on it, it just tries to get me to buy the book that I already have downloaded on my IPhone. It would be great if the two of them could sync with each other. Especially because the page it tells you to reference is not the same on your phone as it is in the paperback or IPad

Needs More

Like the book; Not the APP

1. Need to remove references from the book. I want to use the APP so I don't have to carry the book with me. 2. Needs to incorporate features of other running APPs: timer, GPS, workout history, pace keeper thoroughly the workout. Otherwise this is just a good calculator, so that I don't have to reference the tables in the book. Works for treadmill running, but not for running outside without another APP or device.

Great app

Just got this, and am thrilled to have my workouts with me everywhere I go! I've been using this program for 4 years, and my book is getting kind of shabby :) My only complaint is that the workouts are given based on past performance times. I would prefer if you could also set them based on goal marathon times, like the plans in the back of the book.

Almost

Disappointed PEPID fan

Overall a good companion app to the book. It would be great if you could make comments on the runs. Also, if you could store multiple training plans so that you could plan ahead for different runs. Keep the updates coming!

Nice companion app to book

Tri Runner - Marathoner

The app serves as a very nice companion app to the book. It serves its intended purpose well. The one enhancement suggestion would be to show both min/mi and mph without having to re-setup. Many runners normally think of their pace in min/mile. However, when using a treadmill we may have to use mph if the equipment doesn't allow us to switch units. I find that most of my "track repeats" and many of my tempo runs are done on the treadmill while my long runs are outside. While setting up again isn't a huge hassle, it would be nice to not have to do this step.

No functionality

Disappointed Runner 45

I expected more for this app. It simply repeats the same information from the tables in the book with no added value. The running program is good for training but what you are buying with this app is simply an advertisement to buy the book. Note to developer: timing and distance tracking, at a minimum, would be very helpful so you could measure your performance against the prescribed runs.
