The purpose of the app is to record. It used to work all the way back to when it was known as Fire. Now won't work at all and no fix - I am not going to use any more. Deleting the app forever
Perfect for Shure Mv88 mic

This is my go-to recording app for recording stereo music and other events using my Shure MV 88 stereo midside mic on my iPhone 6s+. After I set the microphone pattern up in Motiv, the settings remain active in the iPhones background, I then record in Rode Rec. this app performs perfectly dependably and is very flexible. Editing and exporting are very easy thanks for a nice app.

So frustrated. I did a recording, and as I was working on it the app crashed and my file disappeared completely. Luckily I backed it up. But I now have to rerecord some stuff because there was overlap in the recording, and the only way I could fix that would be from the original (not the backup). I definitely am moving further away from trusting or using RODE after this.
How can RODE sell such a defective app?

I read all the critical reviews, ignored a two star ranking and bought this relatively expensive app only to experience the same issues App wont scale down for iphone which means that critical information like your settings and the recordings IP address will run off the screen and you can’t see them Couldnt find a way to simply air drop my file as in Griffin's iTalk, which i love. i am forced into this app only to deal with the smart lav's overpowering gain that ruins my recordings in other apps. We should not have to delete, reload, etc a paid app from a major player like RODE. I guess the thing that bugs me most is the company's lack of response to loyal customers suffering through these issues for years now.

LE version will at least record. Don't bother with this junk. It fails to ask for (and therefore get) access to the internal mic.

Jury's out. It was buggy with my 4s. I couldn't get it to work with the 6, the record button was greyed out and couldn't find any help on the internet, only complaints. E-mailed Rode support and they got back to me in a couple days, telling me to set the Ixy mic to 48000. I had it on 44.1K. It works now. So we'll see.......

I've had this app since my iPhone 3G, and it remains the best, simple recording app available. For recording, cataloging, and laying demo ideas, it's super reliable. Not glitzy, but does it's job without distractions and useless frills.
