My order is still payment pending. Paid yesterday. Stay way from Reverb.com.

First a security breach, then trouble logging in after changing a password, (multiple times), sloppy ad copy from less than reputable sellers, stock photos of gear instead of the actual item your are purchasing. The final straw was getting identical responses word ford for word from two different support specialists….Automated?? Oh and now that I am unable to log in -my last support message was “it’s a problem with Apple not Reverb” despite all of my other apps working perfectly. Back to eBay and CL. Better everything than this mess.

Great selection, smooth buying process…all this from my couch. GAS has met its match.

Reverb has a new policy where you MUST keep a credit card on file. They will not let you delete it. With all the hacking and identity theft - this goes against all best practices to keep your financial well being and identity safe. That and all the scammers and fees and now 1099s where they will send incorrect information on sales to the IRS! Reverb what happened!? I will no longer be using this service.

The main issue I have with this app is the search function is really bad. Most of the time I get “ that’s some rare gear” even if my terms are manufacturer/ model name. For example, if I search Ibanez and filter electric guitars, it tells me there are 7 listings… 7 Ibanez guitars available for sale? My local guitar center would have a wider selection if that’s the case. I search “ bone “ and get that’s rare gear (seriously?). eBay returns a ton of listing for “bone blank”. I guess my main point is - it’s nice to have a special app just for music gear but why use it if eBay is still better?
an ACTUAL open-mind
Used to LOVE this app, but I’m growing very tired of its outrageous seller fees and rising tax rates.

Great place to find instruments, even if some sellers think they have gold, while others buyer la won’t pay but dog turds for really good guitars and complain or write scathing lies, but like any public exchange, lots of scammers and rippers, but easy to filter out. As a seller you will have many people try to scam you and keep your gear after intentionally breaking it or complaining about condition. The do it just to steal( or attempt to), and I will say reverb favors buyer a little too much on such reports. Maybe it’s because they make money on the seller, so the system is biased against buyer pretty heavy. At the least, it feels that way. I always recommend item to be listed “as is, no warrantee” and insure it. Let the shipping company deal with breaks and scratches or made up scams. That way the receiving party can be held accountable for constant claims and intentional breaks for profit. Otherwise, if you like instruments and actually play (resellers who just collect and don’t play are the Bane of late stage capitalism and drive up prices for musicians) reverb will make your addiction absolutely the purest insatiable desire. If you start shopping on reverb, you will have so many instruments your wife and/or girlfriend(s) will leave, while on the other side your husband and boyfriends will be forever endeared.
