Retro Pilot is the implementation of the popular arcade game Time Pilot. Fight your way through 5 different time zones, defeat powerful bosses and rescue parachutists. Each time zone has its special feature. So biplanes throw bombs and helicopters fire rockets at you. Jet pilots and UFOs even shoot steerable missiles pursuing your aircraft.
If you have survived all five time zones, the game begins again with even more enemies and faster pilots. The ever-increasing difficulty ensures long-lasting fun.
There are three difficulty levels to choose from:
- Normal (5 aircraft , starting at level 1, 3 enemy hits per aircraft)
- Arcade (3 aircraft , starting at level 1, 1 enemy hit per aircraft)
- Nightmare (1 aircraft , starting in the most difficult level, 1 enemy hit per aircraft)
I have been waiting for a Time Pilot AP an it is finally here. This is a great version of my favorite classic arcade game. The controls are perfect for the iPhone and iPad. A highly recommended time killer!
Time Pilot was the only game I played back in the day. I have long awaited an app version - and here it is! Best part about this is that the shooting action is 100 correct to the old game. The onscreen joystick could not provide a more accurate feel. Great job!
I love this app so much and I have been playing it since August. I just downloaded the new update but there is still no iCade support. This game will be perfect if you add iCade and iPhone 5 screen support. Please try to update these soon. Thanks!!
Since you can't get the original time pilot as an app this is the next best thing. Gameplay is very similar sound effects are very similar action is close not perfect but close. Worth the price.
worth $2 all day long. It is refreshing to not have a pay to play (in app purchase) game. This is everything the original time pilot was and more since instead of only 8 way you have continuous turns if you desire which makes strafing beautiful.
Fun and difficulty level is just about right. The only thing I would change would be to make all the boss ships about 15% larger, and to increase the minimum distance between the enemy and you that is allowed for enemy to fire bullets. I was always killed by bullets fired at extremely short range by enemies here rather than collisions or missiles like in the original.
