Terrible customer service

I do not recommend. Never pay in advance and if you do make sure to put in the exact hour you will arrive. I booked an automatic car in advance and didn’t know what time i would arrive so I just filled in the flight number so I put that in the booking so that the rental company could see what time I would arrive to have the car ready for me, and left the default arrival information of 12pm on the form and paid in advance. The booking was for dollar car rentals. Well my flight arrived at 6pm and they didn’t have my car reserved for me and said that they never had any automatic cars for the model I reserved only manual. I don’t know how to drive manual and to upgrade to a higher tier automatic car I would have to pay almost twice as much. So they said I could pay the higher price or ask for a refund from the reservation site which is Rentalcars. I didn’t want to pay twice as much for a rental so I just went on my way without a rental car. Well I sent in my request for a refund and of course was denied because the booking was the default 12pm and I arrived at 6pm. And in this case they had no obligation to give me a car or a refund for arriving ‘late.’ Why do you even give the option to fill in the flight number if you don’t bother to see when it will arrive? And why would you charge someone for services never used? I can understand charging a fee for processing and costumer service but 0% refund is extremely harsh. Definitely never using Rentalcars again.

The vehicle was not Available at the location after confirming multiple times. Upon arrival, the rental company asked for payment, I asserted payment was already made to Rentalcars.com. His response was that he did not see it and pointed towards another car rental company. I was not able to cancel the rental car via app due to cancellation charges for 75% of the amount and I was not able to get ahold of anyone to provide genuine assistance. All I got was deferrememts and the run around. So I was out of a car, money that was pulled in advance and no pipeline to recover funds. I am currently working with the BBB and US Navy attorneys to reimburse funds. Heed my words: stay away from such unethical companies! Thank You

Used this app 1 time before and no one could touch their rate. They offer a free, no hassle cancellation policy. A must during Covid. Couldn’t get that with Priceline. Will use this app even after Covid it was so easy .

This site promotes Free Cancellation up to 48 hours before your booking. I just cancelled 3 months before and was charged an $80 service fee!!! Read the fine print!!

Hello I wanted to write a word of warning about Rentalcars.com. I booked a car with them in Luxembourg. On the reservation I stated that I'd arrive at 7pm and I added my flight number. My flight actually arrived at 9.30pm so I was a bit later than what I'd stated. On arrival at the rental company counter - InterRent in this case - I found that it was already closed. Apparently they close at 8pm. For all the other customers, they leave a key with the parking garage attendants and it works just fine. But there was no key for me. Apparently they either thought I was a no show (even though they had my flight number and arrival time) or they did not have enough information about me when they closed (e.g. they didn't have a copy of my voucher from Rentalcars.com). When I explained all this very politely to both InterRent and to Rentalcars.com, each one pointed at the other and told me that because of the mismatch between my stated arrival time and the flight number, it was my fault. No refund. No apology. Nothing. Needless to say I think it's frankly a bit ridiculous to take my money when I haven't even seen let alone driven the rental car and given that they had all the information required to leave me a key. But if they want to lose a customer for life so be it ...

This company completely STOLE every penny of my money and left me stranded at an airport with no car and a family. Luckily, I was able to find a non scam company-BUT AVOID AT ALL COSTS. 100% SCAM. They are literally thieves!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I tried to call, I was hung up on multiple times and then they wouldn’t answer the phone until it was hours AFTER my reservation time so they could say “ oh, the reservation must be canceled in advance” SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM
