Does not like Safari

MH Paul

After repeated attempts at logging in, having my account locked, deleting and reinstalling the Recreation.gov App and searching Help, I found a comment that the mobile app from Apple App Store does not support the Apple browser. There must be some Settings change somewhere to change the default browser to the preferred Chrome browser but I given up on this App. It doesn’t work on my iPhone.

Happy Camper

Bluebird Way

I find that this app contains a lot of information about individual camp sites and easy to use.

Additional fees to cancel no refund reservations

rasomakha

I reserved campsites that are in very high demand, many fully-booked for months in advance. My plans changed and I was not able to use the campsites. I went on to the recreation.gov app to cancel my reservations out of courtesy to other campers. I knew that I wouldn’t get a refund, but I didn’t want to be the reason others can’t enjoy the wilderness. However, the app doesn’t let me cancel my reservation without paying an additional $10 service fee for each cancellation. Public officials must be held accountable for this mismanagement of America’s natural resources. I’m writing my Congressional representatives to demand that the contract with Booz Allen Hamilton for this app be canceled immediately. Many of the highly sought after camping areas are empty because of no shows, yet no one can use them because the app shows all sites are fully booked. No one cancels reservations because, not only are no refunds given, Booz Allen Hamilton scams taxpayers out of even more money to cancel their reservations. Shame on those who wrote this contract. Fraud, waste, and abuse at its finest.

GWB!

Would like to be able to click on the specific campsite picture to make it bigger so that you can see the campsite better.

App no longer works after last update

ak_boogie

I can no longer log in using the app. My credentials work on computer but not the app after last update.

Washington Monument

My app on my phone doesn’t show all the tickets like it does on the computer . Which makes it difficult to have a transaction go through

Can no longer login on iPhone

Wayfarer707

The app doesn’t let me login anymore. It asks for “valid credentials” even though the login info I use is the same as on the computer where it works. I hope this gets fixed soon. The app used to be very convenient.

Unreliable

J.quintero

For some reason the log in credentials don’t work on the app. I am able to log on on the website but not on the app. A friend has the same problem, which makes it unreliable if you are trying to wait for a spot to open up

So slow and hard to use

Jin29

It’s ironic that every time I tried to do anything in the Recreation.gov website through safari on my phone, it keeps pushing me to the app. The fact is that the web version, not very user friendly to start with, is so much easier to use than the app. The app kept reporting “cannot find the page” and froze out every time I switched to another app and switch back. Accepting/declining lottery result was simply impossible.

Great way to see the country!

We use this to help us find our next destination often. Easy to navigate and most parks have pictures of the spots to give you an idea of what you will have waiting for you. With our access discount we usually end up spending more time in each location. Great way to find the smaller and less well known parks that are usually less crowded and still just as beautiful as the better know ones!
