about $50 USD

Nice app, but please stop with the deceptive pricing. For everyone reading this, the real cost is about $50 USD after one adds in the “extras”. I don’t mind paying it, really. Just be honest. Also, where is the little wheel for changing beat divisions i.e. Figure ? And why exports of .wav of only 44.1 / 16 bit ? any chance on getting 48 / 24 bit ? lemme guess, lol, it’ll be another in-app purchase.

Inspiring

I recently ventured into the advanced world of music and reason has kinda blow me away with what I can do from anywhere. I like to use it for live digital beat/making and live studio capture. It’s also very cross-platform file wise. Get it, it’s awesome.

Crash

Crash. Shows loading. Attempted to save, something I was grooving on, hit folder icon. Crash. Just paid to unlock, this is a horrible experience. It happened again. Dear props: please fix.

Would like to be able to send the midi file to GarageBand and Logic also when sending out a sound file it doesn’t sync up with GarageBand if I make a 8 bar loop and send it to GarageBand it not a 8 bar loop idk I stopped using it bc of this like the sounds on the app can’t afford desktop rite now would like these features if possible

Not really on sale. Not great. Don’t be as stupid as me.

I had high hopes when I saw this and downloaded it. I love the desktop app, and paid ~$500 for the full suite version. I picked this up because I wanted something to play around with ideas while I am not at home. I decided to pay for the full version instruments because of the “sale” today, and that was a mistake. Here are my issues: A) It says there is a 50% off sale on the instruments, but it seems to me that these are the same prices for each item as when I downloaded the app a few months back and began playing around with it. $5 per instrument (there are only 3) is exactly what it costs when you are not looking at a sale price, so no sale actually, it is 0% off. Maybe fix that, and give me back the $7.50 that I had intended to spend on other things. B) This is not so much a DAW as it is a simple instrument with a sequencer. There are not multiple sequencer tiers for differing instrumental parts. There are no mixer controls to do solos or mutes to drop out the sound of the drums, bass or lead in sections. There is no way to do automation of the parameters that I can tell. This makes it a 3 part, manually manipulated instrument with 3 simple sequencers. I feel a bit misled by the description and some of the reviews. C) I don’t feel like this app can honestly call itself “Reason Compact” without even a simplified version of the fundamental features that make Reason Studio such a great program to work with. The developers clearly have more work to do in order for this application to realize its full potential. How about some more instruments to fill in the very obviously empty space in the rack and also a functional rack like you have in Reason Studio? I gave 2 stars because I feel like Reason Studios has the potential to make this right, as the instruments do sound reasonably good, when you forget for a second all that is missing. Overall, I am EXTREMELY disappointed to have spent $15 on a half baked application bearing the name of a legitimate DAW for Mac with which I am truly happy to be working daily, and much of my best work comes out of the real Reason Studio. This falls short, however, and I wouldn’t have even forked over the 50% that I was supposed to be charged for the instruments, if I had known how much was lacking still. Don’t bother paying to unlock this full app, and do not buy into any of the expansion sound packs. You will be just as underwhelmed and disappointed as I am if you do, and you will have $15 less to spend on things that really matter in this CV-19 pandemic fallout economy. Try out Brambo modular synth instead, if you want all of the things I just mentioned for a similar price point and no misleading games.
