Worse with the every update

AU2026

On this latest one you are forced to make an account to access your books with the sole intention being of pushed into a cloud storage option for your book collection. To make matters worse, I paid fo the BeeLine reader option and it has basically stolen my money as the latest update also turned it off. Done with this app.

Clunky, Buggy, and Slow

Joe Wales

I signed up for Premium because Spritz and Beeline technologies are so appealing. First, it’s very clunky to switch modes. Also no default so the book is presented in vanilla mode. Second, changing modes is very slow. Very. Slow. Third, and really strike three, it drops pages! Yeah. You’re reading along and there’s a huge disconnect. So you load up iBooks to discover that Readme! dropped eight pages. Very very bad.

Not paying to use

You should tell me it costs money after a week before I give you my email address. Delete.

They lie, it’s not free

Nick0575327894

This app used to be free, and most sites still advertise it as that for iOS. But it’s not. They give you a “free week” but then force you to pay if you want to use it. That’s not a free app. Worse, they collect your data before you find that out. The jackals are always on the prowl. This time (again) using false advertising. Probably an offshoot of Phillip Morris.

Nice tech, mediocre app

Luqavi

Needs some serious usability work. - spritz login should be an SFAuthenticationSession, rather than the custom Safari window that won't let me copy in my long password - no need for library to fade in - just show me my books right away - you want my to burn ? my books? Really? The bookshelf is a bit much, but the match is going overboard - if I tap on a book, I want to read it immediately, not see the option to rename it. Put the in the edit mode with deletion, following iOS conventions. - lacks continuous scroll mode. I'm using the app for Spritz, which makes more sense in a continuous context anyway, but previously I stopped using Kindle because it didn't support continuous scroll. - on the Spritz selecter, two magnifying glasses icon is confusing - the part you move should be a handle, and it can still have the move icon. - far as I can tell, no way to zoom images. Many books have maps with small details you need to zoom in to see. - I like that you don't add copywrite info when I copy text from a book. - not updated frequently enough - no iPhone X support over a month after release. - the loading screen "applying Beeline reader" when flipping to the next page is disruptive. Maybe preprocess the next page, since that's at least predictable - you don't need to do the whole book. - bug: Spritz advances faster than the pages turn to keep up.

Bugs, problems, and ridiculous gate mechanics

Them and us

I pay for the premium version of this app and yet there is a frickin time gated mechanic that the developers have added which only lets you create a book every 5 minutes. It’s beyond ridiculous. Not to mention the constant bugs, crashes, books disappearing, and syncing issues. Half the time I can’t log in and can’t sync books across multiple devices, but there’s no shortage of pop-ups telling me to upgrade to premium, which I already have. I wish I could give zero stars. Great concept unfortunately being ruined by inept developers.

Keep it Simple

Bazarov1989

I love the app, I must say. My only concern is the bells and whistles, and I feel like that’s slowing the app. Loading is slower than most reading apps. Also, please add the option to add a list view instead of the bookshelf. Simplicity, minimalism, and functionality (of course beauty through all three) win me. I’m still on the trial week but I already see myself becoming a premium user.

NOT FREE

Jdndbdbcb

If what you’re looking for is a free app for increasing reading speed. Not it.

Garbage

Sign in to subscribe to trial to subscribe to sign in to verify your e-mail to sync to upload. And sign into Spritz if you want speed reading. This is an example of garbage in the Apple store . Glad I cancelled 2 minutes into my trial .
