Not worth it!
NBCTforreal

If you do not know anything about the teaching of reading, this site may help you. I was disappointed in how little information was provided. For example, a list of prefixes was given, but the meanings associated with each prefix was not provided. Also, a list of words with the prefix would be beneficial. Also, hints such as "chunk the word" or "get your mouth ready" would be beneficial ways to teach decoding that could be given and explained. I expected more from teachers who supposedly completed their national boards.

I've been a teacher for over 30 years (K-5)..... & I have taught the Open Court Reading program most of those years. Nice start here, but not much to use or recommend to parents. Add a couple Word Lines, define prefix. Etc. & give a lot more rhyming words. Etc. I hope you add a lot more material to this program. I'll be looking for updates so I can give you more stars.

Helpful Tool for Reading Evaluation
ADE Tech Teacher

This is a good tool for educators to use to help guide them as they assess early learner's reading abilities. It contains lists of words to use and suggestions of activities. The app serves somewhat like a easy guidebook to reading assessment. The timer feature to help test fluency and word count is a useful tool.

Skip.

I am glad I spent only .99 cents. Although it's really not worth the time I took to purchase it. I am a teacher and a mom. This ap may be useful for a mom who knows little about reading, but even that is doubtful. This app is more of a list of simple strategies to teach reading, rather than a useful tool. If you are a credentialed teacher, you don't need this info.

Don't buy this

Nothing interactive. This is not an "app".

Wast of time
Raykit98

This app was a wast of my time and money, I am happy I only spent .99 cent on the purchase. This should not be allowed to be called an app.

Just not enough
SoCal Teacher

Not enough to work with. There is only on fluency passage for first/second and one for third/forth and so on. There is only one set of about 10 words for the other skills and they never change. So I would say they are good for one assessment. Font is small and there is nothing interactive. Not worth the money even at $.99.

NOT pleased!

Unfortunately, this app is lacking greatly. Perhaps my expectations we're entirely too high. The addition of a spreadsheet type appliance that would allow recording individual students' scores/results would be great for documentation. I must, too, agree ... This app isn't worth much more than the $0.99 for which I forfeited from my iTunes account. There is just as helpful information on the Web without a cost attached.

A Lifesaver

I like how it targets the 6 areas of reading all in one portable medium. This saves me the trouble of consulting various textbooks and manuals on diagnostic reading. In this day and age, who has the extra funds for teaching seminars and whatnot?

This isn't an app
Nopetoobad

...it's a collection of screens with instructions and activities, with no way to record results or track progress. Giant waste of time and 99 cents. If you're looking for some interactive skills development, this isn't it.
