At Last! Auto "Home" / "Away" for Nest that works!

This geo-fence app for a nest thermostat works extremely well. It will work for multiple family members and, if you use Apple family share, you only pay for the first app. This latest revision of QuickControl includes three different options for small and large geo-fence rings. Decide whether you are in and out of your home for short local trips or out of town for multiple days in cold or hot weather. The smaller radius ring will switch the nest thermostat to "away" when the last person leaves the home. The larger geo-fence ring will switch to "home" when the first family member crosses it to allow for warm-up or cool-down before arriving. The app on an iPhone is all you need ... The Today pull down notification Widget allows control with the iPhone locked. Also, each user can switch notifications on or off ... or a voice notification can announce when nest has switched via your car Bluetooth connection. But the Apple Watch app is the best of all. A complication shows "home" or "away" and the home temperature in the corner of your watch face. Touch it and the app opens for full control including set-point adjustments. The app also incorporates a full function slide up Glance as well. The support email response is immediate and very receptive to enhancement suggestions. I would give this app six stars if it was a choice!!
Best Apple Watch App

I got quick control to be able to set my Nest thermostat from my apple watch. From the beginning it has worked flawlessly, on my watch and on my phone. Recently I started getting an error message. An email to the developer was answered very quickly. He identified the problem being due to a bug in the Nest software and followed up with Nest to get it resolved. With a couple of days, I received an saying everything was resolved at Nest and to let him know if all was working again. Not only is it working, but faster and more responsive than ever. And the new geofencing feature is terrific. My most useful 3rd party app.
Ineffective and unpredictable

I just started using this for the first time and .. It seems to send the nest temperature to the near, and yet yet nothing happens without me going in to the nest app. (?) Also seems to literally turn on the fan randomly for hours when I open the app .. No rhyme or reason or anything I've done. This application looks great .. Just doesn't work. :-/

Works very well withe the thermostat and camera. If the nest app goes down and it will this app continues to run. The geo fencing works flawlessly. GREAT APP
Does not work with my Nest

I cannot get this to work with my nest. Maybe I'm impatient t but I've waited several minutes and temperature never adjusts. Great idea just for me it does not work. Will keep hoping for it to get and update and work.

Nest for Apple Watch

I previously used an app called Branch to control Nest with Apple Watch. It was pretty much useless and I was looking for something better. Quick control is something much better. Loads quickly and you can use it as an application on different watch faces. Well done!

Have found the app to be the best tool to manage Home/Away status. Apple Watch app is nice. Customer support is outstanding - received a helpful response to my query in less than 2 minutes. Highly recommend !
Love the quick access without unlocking

This is really super quick and convenient for me to access via Today Widget (drag down from top) without unlocking my iOS devices. I'll definitely tell my friends, who has Nest, to give this a try! Love the Geo-fencing feature since I don't always use car when I leave (i.e. walk to downtown, et al). To developers: Perhaps add a button to Today Widget to have fan run for like 15 minutes.
