Interesting Puzzler

I’ve been playing for about a month and a half, and have enjoyed it a lot especially the last few weeks. Getting into the point where i’m able to tackle the lower tier high-level dungeons has made the game a lot more fun. The first few weeks were a lot of grinding and figuring out mechanics like combo chains and skill leveling. This game isn’t something you can play really casually. It takes time and effort and a lot of knowing when to do things and when to hold off. For example, knowing to save your stones for the godfests. Also knowing what monsters evolve to and what skills they have, and well as what drops from what dungeons is hugely helpful. Thankfully a quick google search can get you all you need to know. The game does progress slowly, and takes a lot of time and willingness to play a bit everyday. But it is possible to play for free (i’ve given it $4.99, but have friends who are free to play) and still be competitive. I took a star off for the sheer overwhelming number of monsters, and relative inability to pick what color team you main (it depends on the best drops you get from the rare egg machine)

Honest Review

Now that I've played this game for nearly a year, I'll say my thoughts about this game. Puzzles and Dragons is pretty similar to candy crush or bejeweled if you've played either one. The aim of this game is to create teams that can clear specific dungeons, all in your preference. Do you like creating crosses, control damage with lines, matching five colors; are you combo heavy? If you like orb matching puzzle games and team building, this game might be for you. Now for my pros and cons. Pros - It's anime + Plethora of collectible cards + strategies are required to clear dungeons, challenging players + an anime fan favorite with eye candy artwork + Challenging and rewarding events + Rewarding grinds if patient (helps to have two accounts) + Collaborations (ex. FMA, FF, MonHunter) Cons - Besides strategically building a team, there's not much depth to this game. It's the same boring menu and format with that horrible looping music. - Regurgitating gameplay; basically a card collecting game when you boil it down - Besides multiplayer, the friend system is pretty limited - The constant overflow of new cards make it almost impossible to obtain certain ones (too many generic leaders and subs crowding the card library) - Not much umph or impact in the dungeons, the atmosphere and epic ain't there. I'd like to see them spice up the game. - certain cards(practically the super rare+ ones) are tediously hard to obtain, you usually end up pulling 10+ garbage cards first; I would not recommend purchasing micro transactions, horrible deals. Depending on the festival, a rare monster usually cost 5 in game currency (magic stones) while some exclusives cost 10. All random pulls of course. Having said all that, it's a solid mobile game and time killer. If you're looking for a casual game, I'd pass.

It was fun while it lasted

I lost my recovery code and everything to restore my account. I basically lost 60 bucks and a whole lotta time.

Don’t bother with it

CadenceMatah

Hard core and casual gamers alike, don’t bother with this game. It is rife with unfair mechanics. I have powerful heroes and friends with equally powerful heroes and I can make excellent combos, and yet it is impossible to complete levels. It is so ridiculously unbalanced that it’s just not worth playing. I’m not a casual gamer. I love a good challenge and I will stick to things that are challenging until I overcome them, but I’ve worked at this for more than 6 months and have made NO progress. It’s just not worth it for anyone.

Addicting

This game is cool, original, and addicting and it's fun to make your own monster team. I am getting a little ticked off that one level (Tower of flare - red guardian) and how it's a 10 state level with excruciatingly painful-to-fight enemies and boss and the worst part is that whenever you get to choose a partner for this level EVERYTIME NONE of the partners are water monsters. And since this is such a difficult fire level, it would help a lot if there was a water partner to choose from. But I guess that's not exactly the games's failt.

Very Strategic/Don’t Underestimate

This game requires a lot from the brain. I started in like, 2016, and I learned the combo mechanism after a year. When you start off, it’s easy. But don’t underestimate the game yet. When you get to Hera on normal dungeons, the game forces you to learn the combo mechanism because if you use automatic multipliers in this game, you will never beat Legend or Mythical difficulty in this game. I love this game because this game is not for common gamers. A lot of people who see me play this game accuse me of being a “Pad Nerd” because I know so much now, but they just say that because they only want to play those action games. Play some strategy games, like PAD. Keep developing this game!

An update please?

M.x.S.l

This game has improved a lot & I play it almost daily but there's 1 problem that Ima point out for why i didn't rate it 5* ,the database needs to be updated with more accurate info, esp on where a monster can/will drop

Great game but takes skill

PeeDiddler

The negative reviews are from players that are attempting hard dungeons too soon. Some dungeons I can’t even clear even after getting “op units”. The collabs are great and there is free currency each week. If you take your time and clear dungeons in order you will get better. You can’t expect to be making 10 combo boards at the start. It takes time to develop into a good pad player. The payoff is that skill is rewarded

Great game but update for the iPhone X.
