Terrible

Drosietwo

Many things wrong with this game. It has a dated feel to it, and is incredibly short even with the bonus chapter. The touch sensitivity is awful and it is very frustrating to be kicked out of a HO for touching in the lower 1/3 of the screen. The story line is ridiculous and has been reused. This whole game is a mess. Not worth the price, even if it were free

Pathetic Showing!

BF is "effecting arrogance" in pushing me deeper into hidden-object withdrawal by releasing this "box-office flop"! NOTE — Based on the free trial only: After anxiously waiting a week for a new and exciting release — due to the trending pattern of being denied a second game in a week — any hopes I had were abruptly quashed, as it became transparent that I'd be waiting another few days until the next release. The short demo failed to impress me, and even out of sheer boredom, it couldn't convince me that there might be something worthy enough to purchase the game and carry on. The storyline regurgitates the rehashed theme of.........well, you know, saving a loved one from the usual evil whatever. The visuals and the production were the only highlights in the demo. The graphics are beautifully rendered, with finely sharp and clear details. I didn't play long enough to discern how well the puppets were integrated into the storyline. The little helper, whom I named "Alice," by the way, was cute; however, I could tell that her reedy voice would eventually start getting on my nerves. To me, the gameplay is the most important part of a game. Unfortunately, in this free trial, the gameplay was the weakest part — no originality, no stimulation, no mental challenge. Just....so.....boring. The HOSs were sorely lacking creative elements, comprising mostly mundane word lists. And, the puzzles? They are obviously geared towards juveniles; seriously, trace the path? See Jane run? I only found about two or three musical notes in the few scenes I explored, so I can't remark about the collectibles. Transition was clunky and slow, as were the responses to my touch input, especially during both inventory application and access of interactive areas. Furthermore, when tapping around the lower areas within the HOSs, I was constantly taken out of the scene. Every aspect of this game screams "outdated!" I concluded from the free trial that this game had nothing going for it. This series keeps on worsening as it progresses, and hence the time to end the series for good. I rate this game two thumbs down, a round of "Boos!" and a walk-out. The final verdict, please: Delete!

Freezing up on me

Nolagrl38

I can’t make it past the first hotel scene in room 7 with the fire. Every time I go to use the fire extinguisher to put the fire out it freezes and won’t let me play. Very aggravating sine I just paid to unlock the full version.

Bugs

Crashes during play. Touchy when playing hidden objects you’re drop out off that other screen. Fix these and play would be a lot more fun!

I agree with many of the written reviews. I was so eager for a new game I purchased this one immediately--my silliness but the other puppet games have been mostly excellent, just creepy enough to be delightful. This one not so much. I was unable, unmotivated to play for very long, As Kim T writes so beautifully--in both rave and boo reviews--this one shouts dated. The immensity of the "things to carry" takes up almost 1/4 of screen on my Ipad, so I soon turned back to older games. The game just felt so heavy and plodding. The music and the graphics are lovely but the story, the puzzles, the general arc of the game seem ancient and logy. Verdict--save your $ and don't buy. If you are desperate, like me, replay some of BF's good old games, the ones that had it all. Please Big Fish, you know what we mean and you can see the purchase numbers when the games really hit it out of the ball park. I am a loyal BF fan, so thanks for the many wonderful games, but give us more of them with more consistency. And thanks to the many reviewers I have silently followed over the years!

Download issues

1jaxsgirl

I have tried repeatedly to download and install this game. For 2 days! Even overnight! It will not download past the half mark. Puppet show is one of my favorite games so I was incredibly excited to play this. Excitement is gone, now I’m frustrated and won’t attempt this again. Very disappointed.

A hard pass for me

One of the rare games that I didn't purchase. This can only be described as a mess. First, the interface was terrible. About 1/4 of the screen is used as the border, so you lose a huge amount of space. The controls are inexplicably miniscule, so they take up only about half of the border. Second, the controls are both finicky and clunky. It's very easy to inadvertently click out of an HOP or mini game, but often very hard to get the game to recognize that you've selected something. Third, the hint system is near useless. The hint cursor is a rose that (when selected) aimlessly wanders around the general area where you're supposed to do something. Fourth, there are inconsistencies throughout. I was sure I needed to use my doll on the cable car HOP, but the game kept saying the doll couldn't help me. 3-4 items later, suddenly I could (and had to) use the doll. Finally, the mini games in the trial period were screwy, which is never a good sign. For example, the ball in the spiral maze was unresponsive, so that I had to skip it. AMAX Interactive seems to be a pinch hitter as I've seen them appear in half a dozen series but never more than once. I have yet to see a good game from them. Maybe others have had a different experience. Net: I don't recommend at any price. P.S. Don't waste time trying to erase the chalkboard. It's a red herring, and an annoying one because all of the text comes back.

Negative 5 Stars

Once again, I pad for a game before playing it. Negative 5 stars because: 1. Touch sensitivity issues. Almost impossible to play HOGs or to progress. The previous puppet game was removed and supposedly “improved” this issue, it is the same as before! 2. Annoying background “music.” 3. I could only find 1 hidden collectible (musical note). Graphics are very small and dark. 4. Boring storyline. 5. Very small buttons - map, collectible, etc. The only positive is a fast refresh rate - 5 seconds. Another $3.99 wasted!!!

Not as bad as you may think

I had the same disappointments about the "SALE" of games that most of us have tried or purchased. The game itself I found refreshing in comparison to other Puppetshow games of late. In fact it got back to its roots with not as much gore. You have a puppet friend to help. There are twist and turns that are not reflected in the trial game. But the game is dated! It was short and not definitely worth $6.99. My view is if interested purchase while on sale.

Great game til not!

Had a great time playing the game until the fire scene. Every time I try to use the fire extinguisher like other users it crashes. I have tried everything and can not pass. 5 stars until this issue. But please fix this!
