Good App, Bad Service

I don't use this app very often, but when I need it, I have excellent maps at hand. It's easy and practical to use. The reason for the one star rating is that I've already purchased this app. Now they tell me I have to have a subscription to it. Why do I have to subscribe to something I've already bought? I don't get it. Anyway, I'll use it until I'm required to subscribe then I'll find something else to use. And my original purchase will be wasted. Nice.

My old Garmin finally died when I was getting ready to go offshore Sunday. I was stuck at the dock with no GPS so I decided to try Pro Charts on my iPhone. Wow! It took me right to my spot 25 miles offshore. Can't wait to try it on my iPad next weekend! This is as good as any GPS at West Marine and it was only $29.99 instead of several hundred $! Thanks for a great product!

The company that purchased this app. from simple charts is now trying to change the orig. terms of the agreement by requiring additional fees. Apple should do something about this.

I was an owner of Simple Charts, now they expect me to pay $30 for a yearly subscription. Too Expensive! Simple Charts was great for the price, look elsewhere for cheaper non-subscription charting software.

This is an excellent navigation tool. Why would anyone buy an expensive panel-mounted system when you can do everything and more with this app on your iPad or iPhone?

I recommend this App! I used to use it a few years ago and came back to it because it's easy to use compared to some of the "top grossing" apps that I paid for. Personally, I don't know Captain terminology so a lot of the extra info available on the other apps was convoluting my screen. Plus, I was paying more for info that wasn't serving my needs. I just need an easy to use app that provides the NOAA charts layered in with my GPS location which shows the depths with contour lines and where the obstructions are so that I can avoid the wrecks and sand bars. This app provides this for me and I'm very satisfied! It does provide more than I've mentioned here but I won't go into those details. Happy and safe boating to you⚓️

Great app! I’ve used Simple Charts for 2 years and loved it, but the new Pro Charts version is even better!

I downloaded this App and subscribed to the maps on Nov 6. I was required to establish an acount. I entered my email address as a user name and my iTunes password. This was rejected. I contacted their Support email on Nov 6 and requested assistance. I recontacted them again a week later. I never received a reply from them. So I had no choice but to delete the app and request a refund from iTunes. Who by the way was very helpful. I then downloaded iNavx and am very happy with it.

This app used to be useful. Now, it's an over glorified, expensive and useless product. Less flash, more product.
