Playback settings not sticking after last update

Playback settings for podcasts, mine set at 1.8x, are not being honored after most recent updates. Something broke. Maybe move playback speed from individual podcast to an ‘all’ podcast setting.

I’ve used this app for 8 months now. Was switching between Apple podcasts and spotify. Neither of them could provide the structured display of listening history and playlist function. So glad I found Castbox. I was hooked right after started using this.

Was great until recently

Castbox was pretty good when I started using it 8 months ago. However, since that time they have started using popup ads which are incredibly annoying, and the app crashes all the time. Adding to the frustration is the fact that the podcasts almost never download automatically, the way they are supposed to. So I always have to check and see what is current, and I *always* have to go to the downloads and watch them come in - a huge waste of time - if I don’t want to use cellular data and/or battery life in situations where I can stream wirelessly. That’s a total failure. I see now that there is a "premium" version being offered, so go figure. I'm sick of companies pulling this sort of bait and switch. Definitely gonna switch to another app once I get a free hour to laboriously transfer all my podcast subscriptions over yet again.

Playlist bug

Can we fix this playlist bug? It happens every time I use the playlist. One or two shows in, when it begins to play the third show a loud buzzing noise plays instead. I have to pause it and then hit play again to get it to stop.

Restarting

Podcasts that I listen to (without downloading the episode) tends to restart in the middle of me listening. It’s happened three or four times since the latest update, I don’t know what went wrong but it needs to be fixed!

i have enjoyed using this app but found it quite difficult to unsubscribe. it took leaving a bad review for the app expressing my frustration and waiting a couple months for a reply to get a response. i have learned you must cancel subscriptions through the app store itself. besides this, i enjoyed using the app, very intuitive and i much prefer it to the apple podcast app!

Great app?

Like it, but performance issues holding it back

I like the interface and the functionality of the app but have had too many performance issues with it. These include freezing of the app interface so I can’t change podcast or move within the app without closing and reopening multiple times. Not having the podcast restart where it ended when I turned off the car, instead it picks up from where it stopped two times ago. If they get the performance issues fixed this would be a strong replacement but until then, I’m going to have to move on.

Just tried Castbox after hearing about in on a podcast. Really like it and seems less confusing then some others. Easy to find content.
