The Pitch Pipe is its primary function. It uses professionally recorded sound so that the audio experience is just like carrying around a pitch pipe with you.
The Keyboard allows for 6 octaves of pitches, ideal for vocal warm-ups or plunking out notes.
The Info page allows the user to provide feedback directly to the developer. The goal is to make the best free mobile app for singers, so input is greatly appreciated.
A special thanks to the various contributors to Pocket Pitch:
Md. Atikur Rahman, Programming
Greg Francis, Audio Recording
Tony Sherg, Design Consultant
Love the app!!! Tuning my guitar, or vocalizing, or just wanting to know— how high is that high note? A must for any musician who doesn’t have perfect pitch!
As a singer it’s always good to have a Pitch Pipe in your pocket. A cappella rehearsals are quick and easy with Pocket Pitch handy.
There’s some formatting issues on the iPhone XR where the buttons go partially offscreen, but otherwise the app works well. Otherwise, five stars. A dark mode would be appreciated.
When you don't have perfect pitch and cant tell what note you are hearing!
Surprisingly easy to use as a pitch pipe before beginning a song, couldn’t live without it !
I sing in a choir and barely read music. I get the gist of our anthems at Wednesday night rehearsal but there are always confusing passages. When we had a piano, I could bring the music home and pick at it until it was clear. Now with Pocket Pitch, the piano is in my hand.
We’ve organized a ukulele club at our church. Pocket Pitch is perfect for tuning!
Extremely simple and easy to use digital pitch pipe. Recently found myself in a situation where the music director for the musical that I’m in quit- half way through rehearsals. And with him went his piano- this saved me last at last nights rehearsal when not only did it find my F#, but I literally pounded notes with it. Not to mention everyone thought I was way more professional that I actually am!! Bonus points for that!! Get this!!
Shows up to sing at church and we had no pianist and two singers. Found the note, counted off a measure and we started singing. So glad I didn’t have to grab a note out of thin air!
