Headphones are great, app is useless

Confusing app environment- Plantronics makes separate apps for each different headset, and each app is an ad for the others. Right now, PLT Hub App shows headset is connected, but pressing any button, including the one to request “support,” results in “Unable to load content.” App is useless.

In the $100 price range, Plantronics BackBeat Fit have the best audial performance of any other set, including other models by Plantronics. The fit is great, I can wear them all day for 8 hours and forget I’m wearing them. My only gripe - and it’s a biggie - is the Back Track feature. The only time it has worked for me is when I’m holding the headset while texting. I have lost 2 of these sets. Once in a motel and another time near my car. Both times (and this has happened DOZENS of times) they slipped off my neck while draped there. When I approach a cashier, etc., for me it is rude to have earbuds in. The cable is very short and if I don’t replace them quickly they slip right off. I called Plantronics and the CSR said - after I plead my case - I would replace them if you could return the original pair. Thus, 3/5 stars.

The voyager 5200. I purchased this because of my work activity’s outside in the construction and trucking industry. I’m around a lot of noises and wind at times. It works phenomenal with the noise canceling and the way you can just say answer or ignore. The downside to this is, you can’t get different ear buds that are more ear canal related. I’m sure I will design my own ear bud for that purpose. But you do get a lot of the outside noise so you can’t hear the people on the phone. The other issue is the firmware update and how you don’t have the option of removing and reinstalling it. I have bought 3 of these for me and 2 coworkers and you guessed it. Mine, now after the Bluetooth update echoes with my voice and people can’t hear me talk. Customer service is good but they are limited just like the app. They want me to send it in with proof of purchase and they will see what they can do which is typical these days because of all the scammers. I believe the app could utilize more control features to reset the ear piece back to stock and allow for a clean, tethered reinstall with the firmware update.

When I tried to find my headset on the app, it turned my volume down so I was unable to hear it. I tried three times turning my headset volume up to max and it did the same thing, emitting the sound at the lowest volume!!

Since the upgrade, once again this is my go to blue tooth. I am a blue tooth and hand free user since the first hands free came out 18 years ago. When wireless was introduced jawbone was the best pick. Then jawbone continually went down hill. Then I found PLANTRONICS, this series. What a terrific earbuds. Then the iPhone kept updating its IOS, PLANTRONICS didn't keep up. I was so disappointed. It repeatedly unpaired even during calls. Now with their upgraded device, it works perfectly. I now have the iPhone x. No problems. Thank you PLANTRONICS for a terrific head set. I have changed the part that goes in the ear for comfort. I would like to post a pic, but I'm not given the option. I use the jawbone replacement ear cushions. It sits snug over the PLANTRONICS cushion with the part that is suppose to place in ear trimmed off.

The PC app would not find my Bluetooth Sense, I downloaded the iOS app hoping it would give me the ability to configure my headset, surprise the entire app consists of picking a headset, sending tones to the speakers to "locate" and the user guide picture of the buttons which already had on paper. That is all the useless app does. Don't waste the bandwidth.

I’ve been trying to update firmware for an hour and have given up. The app keeps saying Bluetooth is disconnected 30 seconds in to update regardless of what I try. Headset is great just haven’t had the same luck with the app.
