Loved it now I get to play again

Very cool retro game. Hope they bring back all of the old games.

Easily one of the best games ever created.

ChadTylerMeadows

This game really doesn't need an introduction. It's widely praised as one of the greatest ever. You'd be hard pressed to find a game with better writing or a more original world. Having it on my phone is truly amazing. It's a bit small but if you put font to max size in the options it works really well. Much easier to play than BG2. Pro tip: Max Int and Wisdom when making a character. Trust me.

Frustrating and confusing at first

Tom Steele

Having tried some new games from the same company, (Overhaul) I am even more impressed with this game. So far there isn't much out there that is better. I'm going to try Star Wars KOTR because it has such good reviews, but I am already missing this game - flaws and all. I didn't think the story line was THAT important, but having tried Icewind Dale, I'm seeing a huge difference in the usual D&D dungeon grinds and this game's detailed story line that has a reason for you to keep plugging away at the game. This is now my game to beat in RPG right now. I'd be thrilled to find others like it. ----------------second review-------------------------------- I've finished the game and am updating my review. I initially was frustrated by the design and gameplay. Along the way I became familiar with the controls well enough to tolerate them, the reading is still insane, and there are critical flaws - the worst of which are poor inventory management and the possibility of answering a question wrong and crippling your game options with no knowledge until much later in the game. I found myself using online guides a lot. And the ending was... frustrating? Confusing? But interesting. Pretty solid story. Overall - five stars compared to some of the crud in the App Store. Four stars based on flaws and imperfections. I was too harsh on it earlier. ---------------------original review-------------------------- This is a 20 year old game brought back to life. It is probably a blast from the past for some. But it is just an old game for me. Story looks superb. But it is filled with 20 years of frustration that modern game design has addressed. Things like bad inventory management, and accidentally causing the game to go on full attack towards your character. I wanted to be a thief and made my dexterity 18. But I'm a fighter. To improve you have to find "trainers." Some will love this. Not for me though.

Looks like it would be fun on an iPad

Emil Van Hove

This game is not playable on a phone. Looks like it would be a lot of fun on an iPad though, I wish I had one. They should mention this is for iPad only.

Great game, small buttons

Llama3Lord

I had some trouble getting into Planescape after playing Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale, but I finally started playing it and was pleasantly surprised. One complaint though, the menu buttons are tiny and hard to press.

Needs cloud save

Highwayhigh

Excellent port of an excellent game, but it really needs a cloud save feature or a way to backup saves. I had an iPad crash and I lost a 20 hour game save. This is a common feature in most modern games and it’s especially useful when playing across iPhone and iPad

Needs Menu-Zoom functionality!

SK8SKISM

It’s gonna have to be a solid 3 for the port alone but if the game had a user-friendly zoom-in functionality for the menus it could be a 5 star masterpiece. I’ve tried playing this game on the road and it’s unbearable on a bumpy ride. It’s worst than 3-D glasses at the theater! It’s a shame, my phone is now the only place I can get my game on these days. You guys should challenge yourselves when porting these hidden gems, what’s your motivation? Easy money? Fast cash? Because your work will be reflected in the end-results. I hope you guys look into this deal-breaking issue. Good luck ?? Edit: thanks for taking the time to read my review. I already tried the UI menu scaling and it’s still not enough. I press the wrong buttons like 60 percent of the time. The buttons are not clunky or unresponsive; they’re just too small to accurately interact with them. Especially on the road.

Tiny Menus

SnottNormal

I wish I had seen the “iPad only” suggestion before buying this one. I’ve wanted to play this game for years, but my old eyes and stumpy fingers make the tiny UI a non-starter. Always read labels thoroughly, kids!

Unplayable on SE

Faeloth the Disappointed

I literally can’t pick up the scalpel at the very beginning of the game. Having an SE, I knew there’d be some difficulties due to the size of the phone, but I figured you’d at least be able to scale the UI. Nope. Just glad I bought this instead of BG or ID. Better 4 down the drain than 10. Don’t buy if you have an SE.
