Device Not Connected on iPad

dkbwil

I use an iPad in my car. (Apple CarPlay just isn't worth bothering with yet.) I bought a Pioneer radio thinking I'd be able to mount the radio (Pioneer DEH-8800BHS) and control it thru the app without having to move the iPad to access certain basic features. The app runs on the iPad but it says "Device not connected" and therefore can not control things like volume, tuner, equalizer- only iPod functions which is useless. (I realize this app is designed only for iPhone but I found no other way to contact the developer with suggestions)

Needs to be an iPad version

CryptoSims

This app was built to work on an iPhone not an iPad! Please make a few upgrades to the code and make a version that fits the iPad screen!!!

Super Frustrating

Only works about 1/4 of the time. Doesn't work over Bluetooth most times. Just forget putting pioneer stereos in two cars and using the same smartphone in both cars. That breaks it completely.

Decent, needs iPad version (updated)

The app is decent overall once you find the instructions on how to operate it on iPhone. I would actually like to see an iPad version come out. I'm trying to run the iPhone version on my iPad and the volume doesn't work, I can't search through the music on my iPad and I can't switch sources. I'm in the middle of changing my dash over to have an iPad as my UI. I sure would love to have access to all sources and system settings through my iPad instead of holding the remote. And since I plan on hiding the radio I don't know how well the remote will work for me (August 18th, 2017) Due to the recent update to the ARC app, I decided to give this app another try on my iPad. Every function works the way it should now. The only downside is that it still doesn't fill the entire screen, but with access to change source, volume and everything else it supposed to do, I'm a little bit happier.

disappointing

would be great if worked as intended - but it's super buggy. the audio settings (time alignment, xover, speaker level etc.) displayed in the arc app are often different from the actual settings in the head unit. hard to know what is going on when it's displaying wrong info! makes fine tuning very frustrating. also, no way to eliminate unused app icons from the menu - they just dim, but they remain there, so you have to scroll past the stuff you never use to get to what you do use. long story short - major bummer compared to the carplay setup in our other car.

Works Great!

I don't know what people are complaining about this apps lets me control every single setting from my phone.

Needs google play music support

phatjames167

Great app, especially for setting changes to the radio but it needs google play music support.

iPad version of the app should be next but good job

Satellite Technologies

Thank you pioneer your going to have some good reviews in the App Store. We just need iPad version to fill the screen Im running my iPad as head unit it’s molded into the dash with the pioneer unit behind it. I also have a IR repeater kit so I can still use the remote for the head unit.

Utter garbage

leatherbelt

Offers no functionality you can’t get with Control Center. The equalizer stuff... It’s not obvious as to how I adjust those settings within the app. This is insanity. Pioneer is totally tone-deaf when it comes to good design. While I like my X390BT because it does what it is supposed to do, the design is garbage. This app’s design is garbage as well. Design a unit that physically mimics the OEM style! Make a decent app that allows you to intuitively adjust the audio settings, and take your focus away from playback, because NO ONE will use your app for that.
