A good first draft

Hats off to Webfoot for bring two-player Pinochle to iOS. It's a great two playercard game that deserves a wider audience. Among the many variations of rules, I believe Webfoot has chosen the best rule set. That said, there is room for improvement. The visible areas of the cards are quite small and it is hard to touch the right on, especially on the iPhone. It is easy to accidentally play the wrong card. The app needs to have the first touch scoot the card forward and then have you touch again to confirm that you wish to play it. The extra touch may be inconvenient, but playing the wrong card by mistake can ruin a game. Making it easier to play cards is even more vital when it comes to playing a card from your melds on the table. These should be playable to a trick, but only the top card on a pile that constitutes a meld is genuinely visible. The rest of the cards stacked below have just a thin edge visible, making them almost impossible to play (even on an iPad). This is a deal-breaker for me. The two touch method I proposed in the previous paragraph would eliminate this problem. The rest of the user interface is fine, though it seems that the cards are crowded into the center of the screen and the side areas of the screen are little used. Using the side areas for melds would allow for them to be somewhat more spread out, and thus, allow for more of each melded card to be visible -- thereby making the individual cards easier to play from the melds on the table. I sincerely hope these issues are addressed in an update. It's great for this game to make it to iOS. And as I said, this is a good first draft; it just needs a few tweaks to become excellent.

Needs work

I've been waiting for 2 player pinochle for the iPhone and thought this would be great. But the app crashed at the end of the first hand and my game was lost. Cards are microscopic and it's very easy to play the wrong card. It needs an undo button. Maybe better on iPad.

The cards are too small and it's easy to click in the wrong card. It sometimes crashes.

Worst app ever!

The app is totally useless. The cards are two small; at any time the user will choose the wrong card. It does not even start off the game right as I have chosen a King and the computer has chosen a 10 and I have gone first in that scenario. A superb waste of money.

Not for me

The game is not a standard game. The computer play of the cards is not accurate of what is being lead by the user.

Love/hate

I love playing this game. True it is hard to play on the iPhone because it is small and it's easy to hit the wrong card but that's not a problem on the iPad. What is a problem is that it constantly freezes up and throws you out of the game before it's finished. This probably happens in 40% of the games I play still...I continue to play it. How about an update Webfoot?

Two handed pinochle

Reminds me how I used to play pinochle with my aunt when I was a kid. She’d win more often, one in a while I got lucky. The problem is the game will crash once a hand is finished, or during the play. Once in a while, I get through to complete the game...80% of the time it crashes.
