I resisted for years to pay 9.99 for an app. Having an Android makes you cheap. So I’ve been watching this app for a while wondering if I should buy it. After I got my new iPhone I decided to. The app is powerful. It helps me plan and know exactly where the sun is, the Milky Way, what the correct exposures should be...everything. I take it out the entire time I shoot. On top of that it’s educating me. I’ve learned more from this app than from anything else! It helps me experiment, learn new techniques...it’s crazy how much I rely on this app! I use it almost every day. It’s a complete game changer. I have yet to find another app that compares to this one. I rated it four stars because there are so many things I wish it had: tide charts, so I would know when the best time to hit the beach to shoot, a sunset color predictor (I use two different apps for that and it would be nice if that was in it), topography (I hike a lot), a scheduler, and more things related to the weather. In short I wish I this app had everything you need all rolled into one! Because it’s a pretty amazing app and I wish this was the only one I needed to go to. I hope they keep investing in it.

It is worth the time it takes to learn about how to use this app effectively. Luckily the team has taken the time to offer significant free training on how to succeed! Absolute must for photographers.

I have seen places with this app, that are just amazing, tonight as I got out the car I noticed some bright stars that caught my eye, I decided to look at PhotoPills and it’s there. So beautiful and if not for your app, I would not have learned what it is, and it’s peaking on the 14th I will be ready to capture it.

This app is next level, I’ve only just started using it and wow. I start with a specific task and get off on a tangent wondering through all the cool tables and dynamic diagrams and next thing I know, 30 minutes has pasted. Keep up the great work.

Feedback button is broken

Awesome app. However, the FEEDBACK button in the app is broken. Would love to see the settings for advanced DoF be allowed in hyperfocal distance be allowed. I print big and the standard assumptions fall far short of what is needed for a good print.
