Should not teach all sounds for a phonogram at once

I am a reading specialist and this app is not effective at teaching the vowel patterns. It is not helpful for kids to hear three sounds made by a single letter group all at once and so quickly. Waste of my money as I only bought it for the vowel patterns. Too much auditory input at once for students just learning the primary sound for these patterns. Phonics knowledge builds over time and I do not learn all three possible sounds for a combination at the same time.

Teaching all sounds of a letter at one time provides the opportunity for the child to use the higher level thinking skill of constructing thier knowledge by selecting the most appropriate sound for the current circumstance. Children are able to begin to exercise their cognitive skills when provided a consistent format, which the logic of english provides. The reinforcement provided by this application provides the opportuniity for individual reinforcement either by preprogrammed design or creating one specifically for the child. This is also an example of child centered learning with the teacher as a guide.

I am a kindergarten teacher of many years and a reading specialist. I love this app! My students use it every day. Their progress is amazing. This app teaches all of the sounds for the letters so the children get the full picture right away. Check out the complete reading program on their website.

I really appreciate that this app does just what it says, teaches phonograms. Learning all the phonogram sounds for each phonogram together has been a blessing for my 1st grader. Reading finally is making sense to her. And my natural reader 4 year old loves it. She is benefitting from understanding how the pattern, that she gets intuitively, actually works. It is even helping me see spelling patterns I didn't notice before. Definitely worth the money!
Crashes...

I was excited for this app, but have asked for a refund due to crashing issues. When I first went into the app to type in a user name, I was able to. [It was one slot below the first available slot, so I went to move it up.] 1: After trying to type in the user name in the top slot, no text showed up. 2: I decided to ‘copy’ and ‘paste’ from the second slot to the top, and it crashed… on multiple attempts. Bugs can creep into apps, however, crashing issues are a ‘no go’ for me. [Also not being able to type in the user name is not good either.] Conclusion: Cool concept, but disappointed the issues were there, as it appeared they had been addressed. [After reviewing older comments and the description for the new update.]
Great for reviewing letter sounds

This app is a great resource for reviewing the sounds that letters and phonograms make. Even adults can use this app to check their knowledge of English phonograms. It provides immediate feedback so the user is corrected right away. It pairs delightfully with the material in the Logic of English but can also be used separately.

Up grade the app to work with iOS 8

I love the app unfortunately since I upgraded to IOS 8 The app doesn't work anymore hopefully the developers can fix this with an up date

I found this app very helpful to use in my classroom. It helps keep track of the sounds the kids have mastered. However, since I upgraded to iOS8, the app does not work correctly. I hope it gets fixed soon.
Love it but Does not work in iOS 8

Love that this simply teaches all the phonograms. The game does not advance between questions in iOS 8 - needs a bug fix :( works great if you have a device running an old version of iOS.
