My granddaughters are using this app as a supplement to the Logic of English curriculum. This is a fantastic and comprehensive approach to learning phonics that is put together in an organized way that is easy for anyone to use. My 6 year old granddaughter can sit and review her phonograms easily by herself. The app is user friendly! It also allows you to set up custom levels to work on specific sounds. My granddaughters are making wonderful progress since we began to use this curriculum and app. Also, I had a question for the app creators and they responded to me very quickly.
Good software for drill, but very dull snd the levels are long. Even I got bored helping my child through it. As “school” it does a good job but it is not self motivating.
The LOE app supports their reading program in the most accessible and common sense way possible. I like the simplicity of the app—without all the bells and whistles of other apps that look and sound good, but are low on substance. The app does exactly what it claims it will do, and actually much more, because it teaches an expanded list of phonograms that are not taught by most traditional reading programs. Since using the LOE program and the app, my ESL students have “clicked” with their English language learning and are not as confused when they come across “exceptions to the rule” because LOE reduces exceptions to a minimum. I can see this approach may not be for everyone because we’re entrenched in our traditional learning, but give it a try. You may find that this will be your first approach, rather than your “last resort”.
Great phonogram review! The kids are having a lot of fun with it and it's great practice. Very visually appealing and the sound is crisp and distinct.
Easy, no nonsense way for kids and adults to review all of the phonograms. I'm looking forward to letting my younger students use this while I work one on one with my older kids and vis versa! Check out all of The Logic of English materials! They are all truly top notch!
Attention all parents with young kiddos: this is the app you NEED to help your child learn ALL the sounds of the alphabet. This includes all phonograms (alphabet letters, diphthongs, R controlled vowels, and diagraphs). Spelling rules are even included. If you are new to this, you need to read the book "Uncovering the Logic of English". This app is great for classroom use as you can track individual student progress. Highly recommend for home and classroom use.
This is by far the best phonics app out there. It has all of the phonograms (not just A-Z but the multi-letter ones too like igh) and all of their sounds, for example the A makes three sounds as in apple, age, and water. A voice says the sounds and then your student or child has to choose the correct letter or multi-letter phonogram. My young children were fighting over who's turn it was to play and this is an app that is teaching them the skills they need in order to learn how to read and spell! Brilliant!
A great way to teach children their phonograms. I like the simple design yet entertaining for the kids. Thank you for creating this wonderful learning tool! Another fun way to use the book doodling dragons, the girls can cross reference, so if they can't remember a particular phonogram the pictures help jog their memory.
I'd like my money back. This apparently was never tested. It freezes at level one.
