Update could’ve been great without the bugs

Frankypelvis

Was very happy to see that SEGA added Phantasy Star III & IV, but the latest update is unplayable with all of the new ads and interruptions. Many of the ads cause the game to immediately crash unless you play in Airplane Mode with all internet access turned off. I would be happy to pay for ad-free, but given all the crashes it seems like a risky investment right now

Sub bugs fixed, but others introduced

The latest upgrade with PS3&4 was a pleasant surprise, but the ads seem to invade the games a but more. Open app, watch an ad. Load a game, watch an ad. Save, watch and ad. Pause or minimize app, watch an ad. It wouldn’t be as frustrating if ads didn’t freeze the app. The potential to lose your progress is too great. Plus, with the addition of 3&4, the in-game sound of PS2 seems to have broken, which makes it a lot less fun to play. And using the Neisword in PS2 still crashes the game, so be warned.

I bought Phantasy Star 2 and now I wants me to purchase it again.

Fun yet hard

Here’s the fun part the games itself so much fun! Reminds me of when I was younger! But the “joystick” is just so hard to control and it kind of makes the game itself hard to play. I really like these games, so can you resolve my problem and make the “joystick” easier to use? Thanks it would be greatly appreciated!

3-for-1 steal? Maybe not, but...

The lost Phantasies are back, with a vengeance. I was one of the few that bought PSII as a standalone app many, many moons ago. To have III & IV make a triumvirate is certainly awesome. But this is exactly what complicates the relationship between players and developers that bundle their works. Maybe we want one game without the others. Maybe we’re glad to have all this rare stuff in a nice little box. Newbies will love the price, but we who have already invested at least SOMETHING into this (US$2.99, I think it was) now need to invest just a little more. All told, it’s going to be about $8 for me, and that leaves a sour taste in the mouth, if you get where I am going. Make the pricing less vague and split ‘em up. Let Apple bundle things for you. They’re all good games. It’s a shame the series did not develop further as standalone console RPGs. Still a good buy and worth the pickup.

Won’t even load

Ravenhunter007

The game loads up to select games, but the buttons don’t work on my IPhone XS Max. Even with a nimbus controller over bluetooth the controls are super slow and still don’t work. I couldn’t even find a place to submit a request to these issues. These games are unplayable which is sad, because these are some of my favorite games.

Awesome

I’ve played this game so many times. Initially on Sega Mastersystem, next on my PC and now on my IPhone. This is such a fun game. I immediately paid the $2 to get rid of the ads and it’s been great fun since. To everyone nagging about ads, this game was $50-60 when it came out. Now it’s free with ads or you pay $2, so zip it! Anyways, can’t wait to see which wife I will take and which generation I will get to play with. Thanks for the awesome port Sega.

Feels very dated

UnifiedOmega

Watched an ad to start the game, then watched the opening video, went to save, and had to watch an ad. It froze, so I closed out and opened it back up. Then I was asked for a review before I even started playing again so here is my 1 star review so far. Edit: Man does this game feel dated (and I was playing phantasy Star 4). I get they’re trying to keep true to the original, but it does not hold up well. I imagine it might be fun if you have nostalgia for the game, but I never played it before. The movement controls are awful. Definitely could use a UI revamp also to bring it into the modern age like Final Fantasy has done with their old games

The Games Are Great, But...

G.P.$

I’ve attempted to buy the ad free option. Twice (which leads me to believe that I’ve actually paid for the option twice as well). And yet i still see an ad every time i try and return to the game. I know the developers sometimes answer these reviews, so if you have any suggestions I’m all ears.
