Don't need,don't use
I says just relax

There are many features on many apps that I do not need, do not use, or do not like. The MA feature falls into that group. I understand that some people wish it and use it. My sense is if you don't need it, don't use it. If you wish for it not to be included, develop your own. It is a free app and I appreciate PAR for taking the leadership and developing something we can use (or at least parts of it) and giving it out for free. I'd love for them to include V-Scores on their conference freebie, dry-erase bell curve sheets but I still like and use what they give us. I'd also like for test publishers to agree on the parameters of the 'average range', be consistent with testing terms, require users to report on the software version scores are produced by, W/CSS/Growth scores to be reported and used to measure progress, for people to stop using %tile to mean percentile ranking, and many other psychometric things. If another publisher makes and gives away a better app, then the free market will support another company's app. I look at this like a give-away pen at a conference. If you do not wish a free pen, don't take one. If they offer a free pen and you only prefer free pencils, go respectfully to another display booth for their give-away pencil. Apple has a better stopwatch already built in but it is still fine for PAR to include one here. Thanks PAR for embracing new technology to make our jobs a bit easier.

Converter issues

I previously loved this app.. 5 stars; however since this last update, you are no longer able to input a values into the conversion part of the app and have it convert that particular standard score into another standard score. For example when trying to convert a z-score of -0.45 to another standard score, the app reverts to the nearest value on the normal (-0.33) and populates values using this z-score instead of the one entered. Prior to the update, I was able to enter any value and all the standard scores associated with that value was populated. No longer the case. Is there a fix for this?

Good start, but has some problems

Obviously, the mental age feature should be removed, but there are also some differences in calculating chronological age. When doing it by hand, I get different ages. It may be because I'm borrowing 30 days from the month column regardless of the month I'm borrowing from. Maybe the PAR app is not. Again, great start (and it's free) but more could be added. It would be REALLY helpful if norm tables for different tests were available (WRAT-4, GORT-4, etc).

Apparently PAR has decided to channel Alfred Binet
Dok44

Apparently PAR has decided to channel Alfred Binet. For a company that markets relatively useful assessment instruments, they seem to have forgotten that there is more than school psychology, and even school psychology has moved on conceptually.

PAR Listened

The update is far better than it's original release! I love the larger display on the stopwatch and on the score converter. The best however is the option to buy scoring software as an add on. Why not a score of 5 stars? I test children only and would have love to seen a couple of child measures as options to buy. Otherwise good job PAR!

Update good and bad
Lip Mechanic

The update made everything look beautiful but the compliancy calculator has now lost the ability to adjust the start date.

Great set of tools
maineshanus

This is a fabulous update. The large stopwatch button is great and I am not sure what ontrack was complaining about because the compliancy calculator never had an adjustable start date. It is great idea and based upon the improvements in this version I am sure PAR will listen. Good job PAR!

I love it
