Hit and miss experience

Philso2001

I purchased this app to layout my basement renovation. App worked at first, then began to freeze up and graphic elements would jump all over the screen. It doesn't allow me to load other floor plans. The interface is great. HOWEVER, when you can't complete a project, the app is ineffective. Fix the bugs.

Low End Cad with Errors

DesignTech Professional

It's a low-end product, not something a pro could make extensive use of. I was reviewing this for my firm as a possibility to replace traditional pen & paper field measuring. Criticisims should be viewed through that lens. There's a few key flaws that keep it from being useful for professionals. 1) Walls will grow in length on both ends as you adjust wall width. So your 5'-7" wall with a 4" thickness is 4" longer than it should be. Have a 12" wall (common in commercial) and you're a full foot beyond your measured distance. Unacceptable. 2) Zoom level makes it impossible to do smaller corners than a foot 3) Export of .dxf is imperfect. You discover a lot of artifacts and errors when importing this into a software to do actual documents, meaning you would have been better off drawing from scratch. 4) Dims only snap to center of walls. For applications where finish dimensions are critical this doesn't work. 5) Units don't go smaller than 1/2" increments. Same issue as above. It's a nice software for the amatuer or smaller projects, but if you're looking for an iPad site survey solution, look elsewhere.

Works really well

See other reviews. Many issues. The most important with measurements. Units do not work correctly. Wasted my money. I submitted a request for refund.

Development stage

I would really like to have a refund! I though this would be a really good app for floor planing. I didn't need it to be that good, just to do a few drafts. I actually downloaded it as an emergency because my usual app was on hunger strike. I ended up writing down the dimensions and doing the plans later! I would have been unable to draw a basic floorplan. There are a few symbols, otherwise you have to draw your own and save them. Which is actually a nice feature, however I don't want to have to draw 5 different types of door I expect to find. The instructions could be improved on, particularly with a video. I downloaded this app on site through my phone and couldn't really read online instructions due to signal. I do like the simple line drawing style. But if I can't use it, then it is pointless!

Pad ad makes drafting easy

GirlLandis

If you need a good, easy to use drafting tool PadCad is where it's at. The desktop version is even easier to use. Since it's free with a licensed iPad version, why not give both a try.

Small time

M'Luu

Every time this program gets big enough to be almost done it crashes. It doesn't support any size able planning. Waste of money.

Skip it

Palolo Valley

This is the first app that's made me seek how to get a refund. It has a mind of its own, and is near impossible to select and delete unwanted elements, no matter how far you try to zoom in to select the one you want.

Don't use this app

Rmt8306

I use this app for field work, and I have to move quickly (draw and save) and then move on to next drawing. I save while walking, and I lost 5 drawings today when the app crashed during save. Don't try to save anything with symbols or photos- the app will crash and you will lose everything.

Handy but time consuming

FootballIsKing

This app works just as it should. Only 2 problems I have with it stems from the ease of drawing lines and walls, and the furniture selection. Just too time consuming to draw something that takes 30 seconds on the computer. Also, you are not able to draw straight lines for countertops or desks just have to make extra thick walls. The furniture templates should be able to be sized and there should be a lot more options with having to import them.
