Oxford obviously has one of the top dictionaries; that is really undisputed. However now they want you to buy a $19.99 upgrade to a “premium dictionary”. It is an excellent example of greed. And of course the Oxford Dictionary app I bought previously no longer works on iOS. Classy Oxford, real classy. ?

OED is, of course, the definitive dictionary of the English language and finding it available for iOS was a real thrill. I use it nearly every day to check on words I run across reading, something I seldom did when I had to go to the bookshelf. Wouldn’t be without it!

So practical, lots of information, and very easy to use. The ads are disturbing sometimes though.
