Oxford Dictionary is free iOS app published by MobiSystems, Inc.

The dictionary is superior. However, the distributor, Mobisystems, seem to expect payment for the “premium” version on each iOS device on which it’s installed by the same account holder. That’s a non-starter. Until they change this deceptive practice (they mention it nowhere, and “restore purchase” functionality only works on the “original” device) and end their extortionate price levels, I’ll use it on the one device and not deal with it further. Caveat emptor. You cannot pay once and use the app on both an iPad and an iPhone.

I have found the app to be very helpful and it provides a huge selection of words and explanations, as well as word usage tips.

Very helpful tool ! is always there for me. We do forget our spilling words occasionally, but I do learn new words and their meaning frequently . Thanks for this app .

I enjoy this convenient OED. But I wish that it had the brief year-specific history of how the word was used over time. I miss that feature from the hard copy.

I like this dictionary it is very handy and quickly pops up the word you enter. It is a very easy tool which can figure out what you are trying to find even if you have trouble spelling correctly.

I am so thankful for this app. I have been using another well known dictionary app for several years, and only recently began using Oxford. Though both have their merits, I really enjoy the thoroughness and accessibility the Oxford app affords.

This app keeps notifying me to upgrade, tell my friends, and rate it at 5 stars. It does give the word of the day, but you have to open the app and try to figure out what it wants you to do. Not worth the aggravation!
