Such a help for our marriage!

Shasta Bell

I just want to echo all the praise for this app regarding marriages. My husband and I both have stressful jobs and procrastinating personalities - which basically means we are always tired and there is always a pile of dishes in the sink. We both felt we were always doing more housework than the other person or simply forgetting to do things. We love each other to pieces and we were tired of bickering about the division of labor in our house. This app has truly been helpful - “earning rewards” has a positive motivational effect, the layout of the app keeps us accountable to each other and helps remind both of us when it’s our turn to help out around the house. Analog chore charts take too much time for us to keep up with. With OurHome I love that I get a reminder on my phone and it’s just a tap to check something off. I highly recommend this app!

Great for rewarding good behavior

RRR2010

I use this app to give my kids points for good behavior, completing chores, being polite, kind, helpful, and completing homework. I also setup rewards on this app that they can cash their points in for (date w/ mom or dad, ice cream treat, a new book, etc...). It’s worked great for several months now and it’s definitely a great incentive for them. The kids love to see how many points they get each day/week. Oh, I can also deduct points for bad behavior. I highly recommend this app.

Keeps us on track

Walkingtrashcan

My boyfriend and I both have similar standards for our living space, but we struggle to stay on top of things. This app ensures that we don't have to pester each other about chores. He had trouble getting notifications for a while, though it seems to be working fine now.

SMS notifications!

Ladge

So far we love the app. But notifications via email don’t help anyone in our family as we don’t check email. PLease add SMS alerts for reminders!

Buggy

Update 12/8/17: -when creating task that repeats every month after last done, a bug jumps the current due date to a month away. -When I tap to see my tasks, I get everyone's tasks. I'd like it to default to mine. -Wish there was an easier way to see notes without tapping. -Can't see all of task details. Make text smaller or wrap in a text area box so that we can see it all on the task details page. -Children that don't have rights to see other's chores can still view what's done from within the calendar. NOT private. Other than that, pretty good. Keeps the kids on task and makes the housework fair. Kids use their points to purchase items. Old review: This app is extremely buggy. You can mark a chore off and it will remain unmarked. But if you mark it again, it will give you extra points. Confusing for kids. Crashes constantly and they take their servers offline for maintenance without warning meaning you can't access any of your chores for who knows how long. So if your kids have certain things to do or to mark off, they can forget it.

Loved it, works for what its built for!

Well, perfect app for division of labor:-) Incentives with rewards, motivates with points and best of all lets you compete ;-) My husband loves it! A great app! A suggestion would be to only see todays tasks and overall points on one screen

This app is GREAT!?

Cinchy101

I think this app is great! But I think you could maybe add more avatars. And also add more colors to the characters. Anyway, just give a bit more of a variety of things please.

What an awesome easy app!

SkimPappa

This app was so very simple to set up. It has an absolutely beautiful interface. I added my wife and 3 kids, along with a bunch of chores and rewards in maybe 20 minutes. I didn’t need email addresses or complex setup process for the kids. It was wonderfully simple. I love the fact that the tasks and rewards are all able to be available or not to each child individually. The tasks that I only want my older kids to do will not show up for the younger kids. I love that using the configuration you can adjust viewing permissions for each child so that you can restrict ability to change tasks and rewards, or to view others. This allows me and my wife to have adult tasks assigned, with special adult rewards we can claim ? without the kids seeing it. What a great easy app. We made it 1 penny per point. The kids can claim 500 points for 5$ or they can claim lunch/dinner out with a parent, trip to movies, stay awake an hour late, etc. Thank you so much!

Useful to an extent but ultimately annoying

Autumn O'Feery

My husband and I used this mainly as a way to keep track of our grocery list and keep track of simple weekly to-dos like the garbage and dishes. It worked great for what we needed but the notifications were just too much. One that I received today actually said “okay I guess you don’t need me anymore.” Who’s looking for that from an app to help them stay organized? If you have a household that you’re providing for and organizing the specific ins and outs — an app to make you feel guilty is the last one on the necessary list. Bottom line: Don’t get it, just get a task tracker or even a sticky note instead.

Great but Slow

mjcnelson

I want to love this app. It really does what I hoped to accomplish (and more) in regards to corralling my husband, adult teen, and myself around family responsibilities. The points system is a clever way to show value for each task and infuse some gamelike fun into it. The behavioral/interpersonal elements are very neat. Never would have thought of that. BUT, I’m finding it very buggy and slow. This morning my screen went dark before the app would shift from its home screen to my account. And, once in, it takes a long time to load our details/lists. For an app that is designed to improve workflow, slowness in its own process misses the mark. Hopefully this will improve soon. Great concept though.
