Nice to be able to do some quick DB futzing on my iPad. A little slow but does work well while VPN'd into the Corp network. It's not going to win any design awards, but it gets the job done for doing table lookups on the go. I love the idea and hope to see more apps like this.
This is a handy SQL query tool for Oracle, and while its pretty lightweight and intended for SELECT statements only you can in fact craft UPDATE/INSERT queries and have them work (despite an error message from the app). For what it is intended this program is quite good. If you want to modify data it would be nice if this allowed that or supported the FOR UPDATE clause.
When "Building Query" and then setting "Sort", if the column is already "DESC", even click column still cannot change to "ASC"
This not compatible with Oracle 9i. So basically I can't even get past the database set up.
This app is nice for **viewing data in your Oracle database tables and views. But do not expect to create or alter any database objects, or really do any database administration with the app. I should have read further before dropping $8. So far, it seems like the best option for mobile (ipad) database administration is to SSH, or remote desktop, into a computer that has the software you need and administer your DB through the remote connection. I've tried and made good use of TouchTerm on an iPhone and RDP Lite on iPad (both free), and am really liking the iSSH/VNC/RDP client.
This app has a nice, simple user interface with some power-user features like custom SQL queries and connection encryption. And as far as I've found (and I've looked), it's the only app out there for the iPad that lets you connect directly to your Oracle database without proxying through some Windows-only PC-middleware application that you need to keep running.
Helps me see databases with a gui interface. Very handy for a quick modification of a table
I use this to grab data on the fly when I don't need to take time to go back to the office. Comes in handy when I need to grab my production view when the the boss walks up and surprises me.
It's little hard to find, but the app does support ad hoc SQL queries!
I'm giving this 5 stars even though I can't use it and wasted the $10. This looks like it would have been a fantastic tool, but our VPN connection comes in behind a firewall and the oracle databases can't be accessed directly. I should have checked with our net ops people first. Just a warning to others, make sure you don't have any security policies or firewalls that prohibit this type of connection.
