This app works better than any other app blocker on iOS. Case and point, when I deleted the app after the free trial expired, I was on my phone until 5am! It works by making you become more intentional with your phone usage. What I love most is that it changes the way you interact with your phone. The intentionally you set includes not only what you want to do but the amount of time you think you need. Then, it automatically turns back on so you’ll never use your phone more than you need to. That was my problem; I was using my phone without intention and without a way to stop once I started. Despite this, I could not justify the cost of the app. Before the free plan, it was not worth it since I am a student and have negative income. Thank you to the team at Opal for making the app more accessible with the new free plan. It doesn’t have any of the extra bell and whistles that the paid plan has but it’s enough to stop my phone addiction. 10/10 would recommend.

So not only do they sell your personal information to third parties (check data used to track you and data linked to you) but they ALSO expect you to pay a subscription. NOPE!

So what’s the point?! My problem is the mindless scrolling and it does not block these apps.

After a week on the app, my entire schedule around time organization has tremendously changed. I have been able to get so much important work done because I’m not wasting time n apps like instagram.

Life and productivity saver. I’m happier and feel like I’m back in the driver’s seat of my phone use. This is the only app that meets the challenge to overpower & take control back from all the addictive tactics social media apps use today to keep you online.

So far there is literally nothing wrong with this app. It’s really well crafted and you literally have no excuses to not go do something else other than staring at your phone. The only thing is that it is pretty pricey and I’m on the free trial right now.

I was under the impression I could select my own apps to block. For example, YouTube, Disneyland App, bing search, but it appears it has a built in list that some apps don’t fall under. Unlike the website StayFocusd where you say what websites you want blocked, this doesn’t do that. I don’t even use 50% of the apps it blocks. Oh well, I hoped I found a better alternative to Flipd, but I’ll just have to stay with them.
