It's a start.

Certain aspects are portrait orientation only like the very minimalistic in app so called tutorial, the aether, etc. in app documentation is terribly lacking.

Shows promise, but too cute for its own good if they don't improve it

I like this app, in theory. I really like new UI concepts. But, the authors are almost too cute with it here- it needs work. Not much is obvious and the help is *very* thin. You have to go to their website to get complete help- something you can't do with a WiFi iPad outside of coverage. It would be better to have the help self-contained. Overall, it is clever. But it also crashes very frequently, and I've given up using it because I can't get an aether saved. Once the app exits, it's gone- it's not there if I come back a few days later. I've redone the same calculations 3 times now. I'll have to go back to Excel until a better version of this comes out. So, yes, they rethought the UI, but to the point that NOTHING is obvious. I appreciate the aether concept and floating cells, really I do. I love mind maps and this is the mind map of math. Just they need to be more reliable around saving and managing multiple ethers. But sometimes do you really have to reinvent every last shred of UI concept- even the ones that are good already? Update: Oovium updated yesterday claiming to fix numerous crashing bugs. I quit using it before since it crashed and lost my data before I could even save it. Now, it crashes at launch. Launch, crash, launch, crash. The splash screen is up for just a fraction of a second. I have iPad 2 with the latest OS updates. I power cycled it just to make sure to clear out the memory, to no avail. Launch, crash... I'm not sure what type of QA these folks do or what design methodology they use. The app has been useless to me from the start, despite my hopeful optimism for its outside the box design. Sorry...

Beautiful

This app is a thing of beauty. Using it reminds me of what it felt like to use Labview on a MacIIx 25 years ago!! Hopefully this is just the first stage in the evolution of what an iPad spreadsheet app should be. Looking forward to seeing it grow. In the meanwhile my wish list would be the inclusion of a random number generator function and some loop structure.

Innovative and useful

If you often use spreadsheets for doing mathematical simulations, this app is for you. Instead of cells you use bubbles that you can connect and feed into one another. Incredibly useful.

Still needs some spit and polish to replace spreadsheets, but...

...very innovative. Once it can better handle labeling and grouped items, I can see this replacing most things I'd otherwise use a spreadsheet app for. The other half of the missing star is from the app's use of custom UI elements instead of the standard iOS ones.

Wow I love this

I was looking for goo Flowcharting app when I came across oovium I bought it just for the promise and after a couple of hours playing with it, I'm in love. I am anxiously waiting for the promised enhancements. Keep up the good work.

22nd century calculating

This would make a popular Ted talk. Anyone who does calculations that involve several steps, like a machinist, will use this. It's not just for traditional spreadsheet users.

Looks good, works better

Really had to try this after reading the reviews. This works as promised and reinvents the way you think about problems. Hope it continues to improve and expand in functionality. Keep it up!

Truly Unique !!

I can finally perform "back of the envelope" calculations electronically. This truly may be less effort than doing initial rough calculations by hand. I am a Structural Engineer and perform design calculations routinely throughout the day. My calculations usually begin by hand and then eventually over time are programmed into an Excel spreadsheets for repetitive use in the future. I can see the ability of effortlessly creating those initial hand calculations in this program. The interface of this program makes use of all the strengths of a tablet computer. Clearly the developer has bigger plans for this software but even in its current version (1.1.2.4) the potential is obvious. I look forward to exploring this program as it currently stands and eagerly await future updates.

Bravo!

Looking forward to updates. Very impressive, nay groundbreaking UI work here. Do check the videos in the help section. This app is a paradigm shift for calculator/mindmap/spreadsheet users, so be prepared to study a bit. Would benefit from an undo feature. Very cool app.
