Won't stop ringing!

Compusmurf

I finally turned on incoming and outgoing calls in the IOS app since I keep an old iPhone on the nightstand as a quick browsing device. I have used it to make a couple of quick calls when I didn't feel like grabbing an Ooma connected handset. It works well for that function. I do have an issue with the IOS app continuing to ring long after the directly connected Ooma handset or linked number device (my cellphone) has picked the call. One day, I found the iPhone had been ringing for hours after I completed an incoming Ooma call routed to my cellphone. I also have to rush to my browser iPhone to stop it from ringing if I pick up a call on the Ooma connected handset. From the Ooma forums, I see this has been a problem since at least 2015! I know there have been updates to the IOS app since then and it is still occurring. Configuration: *Ooma tell connected to house main telephone circuit, Ooma Premier plan *Ooma IOS app v7.2 (255590), ring home phone set, ring app disabled (until the problem is fixed), ring external number set, incoming and outgoing calls enabled

Add Voicemail Forwarding

Last Week iPhone Newbie

I want the ability to forward my voicemails to recipients using the Ooma app. As old as Ooma is, you only allow me to move voicemails to a folder, such as the trash folder. I should be able to open the Ooma app, listen to my voicemail, then forward the voicemail to my wife’s AT&T cell phone number, even though she refuses to install the Ooma app.

Works!

MichaelG_sfe

I have been very happy with this app, as long as I have a good wifi signal all works well! Clear sound, sometimes better than my cell service. Saves money when away from home by making free calls as long as I'm connected to wifi.

Current build stop outbound gsm calls

wydmbs

Current build appears to not work for gsm. Works on WiFi outbound but not gsm. Same number was used. Tried on two different iPhones. Used to work.

Updated review

Santa784377754

After last update, outgoing calls only work when connected to WI FI. If the device is on cellular network, outgoing calls do not work. Tested on 4 separate devices (all running IOS) and different network providers (Verizon, T Mobile and ATT). All devices act the same when on cellular network( not connected to WIFI), can not make outgoing calls. Please fix Update: developer quickly responded and fixed issue. Thank you!!

Works well

This app works well in my experience. Or use it for receiving calls to my home when I am away from home or abroad.

Update All Good

Thank you Ooma Developers. We are back to business!

Pretty consistently great

Wathrine

I used the Ooma app on my cell to make calls to the US when we were in Mexico. Where WiFi was strong, (almost everywhere) the calls were crystal clear and hardly ever dropped. When we’re at home, Ooma on my cell sounds better than the cell service. It’s great being able to see the home phone call log on your cell, and play messages that way too.

Even better when used overseas traveling!

macmediausa

I’ve been using Ooma for the better part of 6 years+. The app is especially great when traveling outside the country. That’s because I can get data only SIM cards for my cell phone (cheaper than voice+data) and just use the Ooma app to make and receive calls (which uses data instead of voice minutes). Even better is with T-Mobile they give free texting and slow 2G data which is fine for making calls through Ooma. Ooma is basically free and T-Mobile data roaming is free which makes keeping in touch internationally really affordable (like in FREE)! Voice quality is great too!

Caller ID for native app

F1Michael

Please pass caller ID information to the native phone app. Annoying to get stuck on incoming call screen and have to miss it and open Ooma app to see who was calling.
